Personally, on a prospector a helix 1 with a focus 3 and a reiger 3 and some ARGO bags seems to be a happy medium and can do well with their 1 and QT rocks pretty well. You could get bigger rocks with active modules like the surge if you feel like adding a bit of pressure. It’s really up to you though. o7

No I haven't had that happen to me ever. I really only play like this and have used gadgets for as long as they have been available. I'd be a bit apprehensive of using them if that happened to me though. :) If the issue you are experiencing is repeatable, then log it on the issue council as this might help other in future! Sounds nasty that one... o7

yeah man, great video. that first rock was a master class in rock breaking! prospector mining on aberdeen is lots of fun! i spent a lot of time there w my cutty black & roc. and now bring my prospector there to fill my bags

Honestly you can do it any way you like, but it does make you think about all that space in your cargo hold taken up by blooming quartz. Remember mining the way I do can take a bit longer to achieve but the results are always rewarding 👍👍 o7
Nice observation!! GG! Unfortunately, currently there is a visual bug that shows the selected ores sort of... switching off. The ore will be refined as there is a high yield number. Really hoping that bug is gone next patch as it was confirmed on IC so we can only hope! o7
Yes! I really want to do more lives and work is a major factor in being able to. I thought I’d make some videos to get a few for more folk around for the streams but it’s tiring… lol, I have a feeling it might have worked though… 👍 Stream coming soon (TM). I like to mine on Cellin, find a lot of good sized Quant rocks there for the Prospector. Use the same Head with modules btw. Always carry a Sabir and Surge with me in case I need a little more "oempf". Sabir is good for less resistance and makes the window 2x bigger. I'm even more lazy I guess. 😅 The upside down is genius! Good video!
Nice! I found surges a bit ‘white knuckle’ lol so I decided to pursue passives. Might load out my mole with some and get back in Crusader! o7 fellow miner!

Mining on Euterpe last night, had about half of a Prospector load of bexalite when I came across a big quantanium rock that needed a gadget to enable me to pop it. I usually use optimax or sabir and in this case, I had the optimax. Had it in my hands to place on the rock and it worked as usual, but it sort of hung on the rock for a second, then came back into my hands. Could not get it to attach to the rock again, so I tried dropping it on the ground. It fell through. Turned around and went back to enter my ship, but it would not let me back in the normal way. I could raise/lower the ladder, but not actually use it. I was able to jump off a ledge nearby and land in the doorway, but then the door to my cockpit wouldn't open. At that point, I tried bed logging, but my body glitched down through the ship when I selected "log out". I was then just completely stranded outside of my ship. Have you ever encountered this issue? I partied up with someone on the server, logged out and back in, then grabbed my C2 and flew back to the Prospector. It let me get in and fly it, full functionality...but my cargo bags were all empty. Still, since it let me back in after logging (and it still showed that I owned the Prospector upon getting back to it's location), I wonder if the optimax caused my character to glitch out somehow or if it was just the ship being dumb. Just curious if there is some workaround you might know of to save my precious ores in the future lol. Love your content, keep up the great work!
Ok… wow thanks for all the information! I love this honestly! I will say from the outset… I think this is server performance being poor at that time, where you were. After playing for years doing this I have seen the things you describe, even recently. From what you describe the gadget started to behave abnormally… at that point I’m thinking… it’s the server. No matter which gadget you were using… this would have happened. If you were throwing your fracture laser at the rock at this moment… it would have almost certainly spiked beyond saving due to the server performance.. going on my own experiences. Sometimes mining is very difficult to achieve as there are so many variables and links in the chain that can go wrong that each result in absolute failure. I think on this occasion, personally and entirely through what I know about the game, this was the very common, bad server performance. (Which will improve with each and every hot fix and patch… ymmv) Keep going with the gadgets and experiment too! I lost several million today due to poor server performance during a simple landing procedure I’ve done a thousand times… I’m good. I took an hour off.. watched some farming simulator. I’ll be mining again tomorrow lol ! o7
Great stuff - I've been recording mining footage much like this for my own channel I'm about to launch. Great to see another relaxed miner out there who isn't worried about min/maxing every aspect of their experience. Love your videos, been watching all morning.

Yeah I remember doing that. Good times honestly! You learn a lot more when the game leans on you to make what you have work. You’ll get enough for a Prospector of your own in no time!
Yeah… I did think about that but due to my insane keybinds I thought as long as there is an instruction to do it, people should be able to figure it out eventually. You’re right though I should have pointed that out. 👍
Shame you lost the carrack, i used it a few times buying rmc at pickers field because you can respawn in it if a pirate kills you after you paid. It is a bit too stressfull for me i prefer mining now

I was listening to you while mining, found a quant rock, backspaced came back with my mole, cracked it. You talking in the background was chill. I wonder what you did with the 60 mil, did you buy that 890 or let it be wiped with 3.23? I often find myself giving 200 to 400k to new players i feel for them and want to help them getting a ship like c1, prospector etc

I went to miners lament while listening to your stream and cracked a 17660 mass rock with your setup and filled it with 28scu bexalite very nice great tip
The shop at the refinery at MIC L2a sells the bags on their own, but you might need to use another ship to carry them to wherever you’re swapping them because they won’t fit in the prospectors storage. Also, keep in mind that if you ever need to reclaim your ship, you’ll lose the mole bags.
@@MseeBMe currently this isn’t possible in game. It will be very soon but for now it cannot be done the way you describe. My video also shows how to have the bags stay after a claim. Looking forward to when we can do this as you describe though! o7
@@MseeBMe Oh for that, there is a easy "fix" open the vehicle app change some other component, then save, change the other component again, save again. - now you got permanent mole bags!
You know I’ve been carrying around an optimax on my pack for ages thinking it had some sort of passive effect, had Nooooo idea that you had to attach it so a HUGE thank you for the info!

Play the game however you like. That’s the wonderful thing about this game! I honestly don’t notice the repair costs, only if I lose a module is it a little pricey. But I earn about 500 k per hour mining on average in the prospector so whatever repairs are very easily covered. I remember getting a bit less than that rock mining but it’s not really about the cash, it’s if you like it that matters 👍

Hi i tried the optimax, found a big rock, made a clean break. Did not see the optimax after the break thought maybe it was under a piece of rock. After i collected all the pieces from secondary breaks i found it on the ground but it was broken. I picked it up and went to the prospector. Tried to put it on my backpack and it fell off, giving me 3 tier 2 injures lol i had to respawn and fly back. Was this a fluke or working as intented? Some dangerous tech😅
Well i've used that gadget for probably hundreds of rocks and never seen that bug, lol. But that's Star Citizen i guess, if it's repeatable you should probably log it on Issue Council. o7
When you run into large Quant rocks, what setup do you use with the Prospector? I found a Quant rock with 27k mass about 80.78 SCU with 45% Quant in it.
That's a great rock! I switch set ups a lot but for the most part on a Prospector I'd prefer using what I'm using in that video. I get a nice big Quant Rock on Cellin with this set up in a recent video and it worked well! Max for my set up for QT might be around 16K Mass. (guessing) The great thing about mining in SC is there are many ways to crack that rock! :)
@@HaroldPalmerYT Ok good to know. Yeah it was on Cellin, my Prospy setup is Helix I with Reiger C3 and Focus III. I now have the Optimax gadget just in case it will be needed.
Awesome relaxing gameplay. I also forgot about the optimax you were so chuffed with the 100% taranite chunks😊 Ps are you also still using the mole? I would love to see some gameplay, i am currently practicing with the stampede on the helix 2 it takes some skill😅
