I am new to tufting & your channel. THANK YOU! I appreciate the yarn information and would love a deep dive into colors, tone, shades & amounts if you haven’t done it yet.
now when people do large rugs with small tricky details, why have I never seen anyone stop, put the gun down, and grab one of these, like a fine brush..also what is this device called?
I honestly have only been able to eyeball it due to experience & even then I sometimes still buy wayyy too much! LOL - If you want an accurate estimate you could just fill in your cloth left to right with two skeins of yarn (so you can tuft 2 threads simultaneously) & then measure the square footage you were able to fill once you ran out. However this may not always be super accurate for a beginner as the amount of yarn used will definitely vary as you learn, sometimes your loops may be looser ( covering more square footage with less yarn) or tighter ( opposite lol). I hope this helped! I will add this to my list of video topics to cover in the future because it is a great question!
I honestly can’t 😩 I really do not know much about it and have not researched it at all. I try to stay away from posting and selling designs like Disney cause I have heard they are very quick to send a Cease & Desist order - in my opinion if you make copyright designs don’t advertise them for sale and you should be okay!
@@tuftdayz Even after watching your video, im having trouble pricing my rugs. 😅 Yea, I feel as if you likely post but don't say your selling or anything youd be fine. Can I DM you on IG in regards to this pricing subject? 😭 im struggling. If so, mention your ig please and thank you.
I just started and made my first rug ever 2 nights ago. I do wish I watched your video before I got started. I made my first one through trial and error with 2 4x4 pieces of cloth before I got the hang of these 😂 but it’s a really good idea to point out the fact that this is not a cheap one. It’s downplayed in a lot of the videos I watched and I didn’t realize this until I realized I was buying $600 worth of stuff and I didn’t even put any yarn through the canvas yet 😂 I love the transparency
Thank you so much! I try to be as honest as possible with my personal experience - so many people rush to get into tufting thinking they will make bank quickly & its unfortunately rarely ever the case. If you end up posting your work let me know! I would love to show some support right back at you!
Love how you speak the truth with no sugar coating! Small rug samples are an excellent idea with all that good info on the back. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️❤️
Hi there how did you split your frame, I like that a lot, very clever 😊 i can see wat you did, but is that standing there ore did you screw it down. Thanks for all your info. Very, very useful Wilma from Holland
So i just took scrap wood that is the same width as the others and nailed a carpet tact strip to it. Then screwed it into the top & bottom of my frame at the size I wanted. I can post a short here on it so you can see it better lol - Im a visual person.
