That is incorrect. He caught a couple of passes earlier in this game. However, it was his first touchdown catch of his career. He was a senior and it was his last game. How about that touchdown for him though:? What a fantastic way to end his college foothball career!
@@iamarine thank you for the stat correction on Halloway's reception numbers. I don't like to be wrong, but when I am I don't have any problem at all with being corrected.
On that last series there was a lot of things wrong. For one, the QB was down on that bad snap but it wasnt called. So they shouldnt hav let it go. I dont know how many fouls could have been called on other plays would be called today but there were many.
Such a strange game. A very odd October for Michigan too. Won this game 12-9, beat Northwestern two weeks later (after the bye) 12-6, beat Indiana 21-10 the next week, and on Halloween beat Minnesota 15-10. Michigan won by a single score in their three road games that month, and scored only one touchdown (all three times it was on a Brady pass to Tai Streets) and had a safety in each one. Also in those three road games all of their opponents points were scored on special teams (Minnesota had a TD after Michigan's punter fumbled the snap).
Watching this in July anticipating the next season and it's given me hope. I forgot how much our production dropped on offense after losing McNamara. Not that we were great before then but if he can stay healthy and our new coordinator can add some value and diversity on offense we should be a problem.
I know everyone likes to clown Iowa, but no team in the nation wants them to figure out their offense. I genuinely cannot think of a bigger sleeping giant in college football than the Iowa Hawkeyes.
we have some Indianapolis colts players in this game. 2 on Michigan and 2 on Iowa. Marlin Jackson and Cato June from Michigan, bob sanders and Dallas clark from Iowa
I despise the race shit, let Cooper succeed or fail on his play. The gratuitous introduction of race into everything, I suppose, is a sign of the times. By the way, I've watched nfl football since the late 60s. The best white cornerback I've ever watched play, by far, is Roger Wherli. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal. Wherli was a perennially all pro. An absolute elite player.
It's too bad Brian did use him on offense with some jet sweeps or other pass plays. He has good vision, hands, and is shifty. But Brian is the worst OC we've probably ever had so there's that.
other than Banks and Drew Tate, Kirk has just never bothered to recruit dynamic players at QB. It's like he's constantly trying to build the 1997 Michigan Wolverines (with Cooper DeJean as the working man's Charles Woodson) up to and including the boring, statuesque QB (Brian Griese for Michigan).
The predator birds swooped down on the cowardly reptiles in this contest! Grabbed em by the tail and closed those chomping jaws shut. Way to go Hawkeyes and see you later alligator!
I don't think you get how much of athlete Cooper is. 11 seconds in the 100 meter in High School. State Champ. Basketball scoring records. He is explosive and has a very good football IQ. Not to mention there are A LOT of bums starting at corner in the NFL.
I think he's playing damn good at corner. It's not like he's slow, he's right on anyone he's playing man on. If he ends up safety then he'll do just fine but I think he could do just as well at corner in the nfl
