Thank you for your support! We're happy to hear that our RYERCAT toothbrush is working well for your cat 😻What's your cat's name? Feel free to share and tag us on social @ryercat! Would LOVE to see what our Meow-stomers think!
I’ve been working with my two cats drying since February by putting paste on my finger as well as allowing them to lick the toothbrush. Last week we’ve crossed into actual brushing! Even though I’m using your brush, which is small, I can’t see (or feel) what I’m doing beyond the canine and think the brush is maybe just pushing the corner of the mouth instead of going between the cheek and gums. When I use my finger I can rub the molars. Why do you suppose I’m feeling less effective with the brush?
It sounds like you’ve made excellent progress with transitioning from paste to brushing. you're doing great MEOWma! Brushing with a toothbrush can feel different from using your finger. Try adjusting the angle of the brush and using small, circular motions to better reach between the teeth and gums. hope this helps!
We understand that everyone has different preferences. We apologize if our product didn't meet your expectations. We're always looking for ways to improve, so your feedback is valuable to us.
If you do use treats, what type do you use? I was starting by just putting the toothpaste on their gums and the over it for awhile as the chicken flavored paste was the reward. But not anymore. In fact one started running away from me. One of your other videos mentioned treats after, so I’ve been doing that for the past three months and have gained better cooperation again. I’ve tried the toothbrush since sometimes they even lift their lip for me, but no go. I’m going to have to burrito. But I don’t think I should drop the treat. Yet the dental treats (of which I think I have every brand) are mostly carbs and I felt better when the last thing they had in their months for the evening was the paste mixed with probiotic.
Hey there! For hard treats, try single-ingredient freeze-dried ones. They’re a great option. If you let us know where you’re from, we can recommend some brands. For liquid treats, Churu is a good choice. You're doing an amazing job! Consistency is key, and you're clearly doing it right (that's more than 98% of cat parents!) Keep up the good work! 🐾😻
For cat toothpaste, you may want to try another enzymatic pet toothpastes on the market that are VOHC approved ,any brand will do. You can also try coconut oil. Look for toothpaste specifically formulated for cats, as human toothpaste can be harmful to them. Most pet stores or veterinary clinics should carry a selection of cat-friendly toothpaste.
Hey Christine! We advise against using baking soda and water to clean your kitty's toothbrush. Baking soda can be harmful to cats if ingested and it's not very effective in removing oil residue. It's safer if you rinse the toothbrush thoroughly with water after each use and use a mild dish soap to clean stubborn oil residue. Rince the toothbrush well and air dry before storing it. hope this info helps! You're a-MEOW-zing taking care of your cat's teefs! 🤩🫶
Well done guys! I love the amount of detail you go into and then show by example how to accomplish them. I didn't know about the Jacobson's organ and am no longer hesitant to brush my 6 cats teeth! Keep 'em coming!
We love knowing that the details and demonstrations help you feel confident caring for your furr babiesss. <3 Sam and Mel - the founders will be thrilled to know their hard work and passion are making a difference. They pour their hearts into creating these brushed and seeing them help their fellow cat MEOWMIE is truly rewarding. 🫶😍 Your kind words mean a lot to us.
Genuine question, do they "brush their teeth" (not with a toothbrush but you know what i mean) in nature? Or is it only because of the food we give them that we need to brush their teeth? Thanks for the video, and cute cat!!
Great question! In the wild, cats clean their teeth by chewing on prey bones, fur, and feathers. This process helps remove dirt and plaque. However, cat food is softer and doesn't provide the same level of cleaning. That's why regular dental care, brushing or dental treats, like our silvervine dental sticks, is important for domestic cats to prevent dental problems. Thanks for watching and for the compliment on our adorable MEOW-del! 😍
Thank you for being such a good and informative channel!! I swear, lots, like a LOT of people need to know this because they just assume that cats don’t need to brush their teeth at all and all that nonsense..
That's a creative analogy! While it might seem counterintuitive, the reward for brushing your teeth is the long-term health benefits, just like with our product and the health benefits it provides for your pet's dental hygiene.
It's generally recommended to brush their teefs after their meal. But some cats would prefer before or different time of the day. The most important thing is to establish a regular routine that works for both you and your cat, ensuring consistency in dental care. You are amazing Meowmie!!
Really appreciate you Dr Emovon on RU-vid for bringing back happiness and for giving me a permanent cure for my bad breath. Thank you so much, friends join me to thank him for what he has actually done for me and I pray to you all for a good life and good health, and most especially to you Dr Emovon on RU-vid…..✅✅
That's fantastic to hear! Teaching your kitten about dental hygiene from a young age is a great way to ensure their oral health as they grow older. Remember to introduce the toothbrush gradually and make the experience positive for your kitten by using rewards and praise. If you have any questions or need tips on how to brush your kitten's teeth effectively, feel free to ask. Happy brushing!
Stopping a cat from biting the toothbrush can be challenging, Try introducing the toothbrush gradually with their fave liquid treat. It's really hard to stop them from biting but our toothbrush is made of biodegradable cornstarch that when they bite on to it, it will not chip their teeth. The proper way to brush a cat's teeth would be to maintain control of the head at all times, while visualizing the area you are brushing (not just letting the cat bite the brush and calling it a day). If they are wanting a more passive tool for biting, I would suggest our silvervine dental sticks instead.
Rinsing Thoroughly with running water after every use is enough. Avoid boiling since our toothbrushes are made up of biodegradable materials it can damage the brush. Hope this helps!
Nope! You only have to brush the outside of your cat's teeth since the inside surface doesn't need to be brushed because cat's have their tongue that rubs against it and their tongues are really rough. So you don't really have to pry you cat's mouth open to do that. It's still a good practice to check the inner aspects of your cat's mouth. If you're going to attempt to brush the inner part of their teeth, we would suggest to do it once a week. Hope this information helps!
Thank you for this video! Today I learned about the inside of the teeth being partly cleaned by the tongue! I was always asking myself about this and I try to brush there but as u said with most toothbrushes for pets it is impossible to even get to the back teeth....I have bought every brand there is in Germany and actually found very small baby toothbrushes and special interdental ones for humans better than all the pet ones. Today I ordered two of your brushes and I am thrilled to see how they work for us. Greetings from Germany! P.S. I have heard several people here say that raw meat is better for the teeth because the cats have to really bite and chew the raw meat and that cleans the teeth.
@@ryercat Thank u :) They have arrived and it is sooo much easier to reach the molars. Looking forward to your toothpaste as I am not too thrilled about all the enzymatic products.
Hey friend! You can gently hold your cat and position them. Since the bottom front molar has been removed, pay extra attention to the remaining teeth, especially the ones adjacent to the gap. Use gentle, circular motions to brush the accessible teeth. Always remember, PAWsitive reinforcement after each try. You got this! -Jaya, Customer Support
Yup but some do too ;) Always remember to approach such situations with caution and be attentive to your cat's signals to ensure their comfort and well-being. -Jaya
This is not a how to video. This is annoying I came from your ad, your website says watch the How to video below and it was this, so I came here and still not the video advertised. I was SO CLOSE to purchasing and this nonsense has halted that. Will not be purchasing. Accurate information and ease of navigation is necessary.

It takes time and patience. Every cat is different, and some definitely have stronger personalities than others! Positive reinforcement really helps! Feel free to check out our mini course in getting started with the brushing routine 😻 ru-vid.com/group/PLCVYCkx8C5mv8LKYGNqDkhwnMHBRcPfjP

kibble companies definitely don't use euthanized pets or poop in their foods - at least, not in countries with legal standards for things like that. I feed my cats raw, but working in the vet industry has taught me that vet prescription kibble (like Royal Canin and Hills) can be useful for managing diseases in pets whose owners wouldn't do it otherwise, especially in complicated cases (like kidney disease, for example). it is an overall benefit to the pet compared to if those foods were not available and the pet was fed whiskas wet food its entire life instead. however, for those people who are passionate about their pets' health and nutrition and want to do the best they can, there are way better options than kibble. and it is indeed a myth that kibble brushes cats' teeth - often times, cats will actually swallow their kibble whole, especially if they already have dental issues :)
@@ryercat You are welcome. Everyone needs to educate themselves. They this to humans too. Help educate others, too. Pass it on. Learn all you can to protect yourself and your pets.

My cat will not be held or handled, but she insists I hold a toothbrush out every night so she can bite on it, and Ive eventtually gotten to the point where she lets me scrub her teeth a little. I can't find a toothpaste she likes, but I'll try coconut oil!
You're doing a great job Meowmie! 😻You and your kitty will get the hang of it and it'll be a routine soon. Just trust the process you're getting there 😸😀
Some good information, I only ordered the 1 toothbrush, so I have ordered 2 more for the other 2 cats. I have never cleaned my cats teeth and was just going to start cleaning, good thing I have watched some of these. I will have to get their teeth cleaned prior to starting this regime. Thank you
That's fantastic! It's awesome that you've decided to expand the dental care routine for your other cats. Starting a home dental cleaning regime now will really pay off down the road. Getting their teeth cleaned beforehand is a great step too! Good luck, and keep those video tutorials handy if you need them. Your dedication is awesome! 🐾😊
Love this. Finally people doing research specifically for cats! I never understood this (maybe because I primarily grew up around cats), there’s just not enough research for cat products or cat health in general. Looking forward to hearing about the new toothpaste.Thank you!
Cats are extremely resistant to exposing their abdomen. My cat would never accept being held like this. I just put my arm behind her rear so she can't recoil backward when I brush her teeth. Another thing I started getting her used to what I was doing when she was a kitten. An adult cat who hasn't been accustomed to brushing will really resist this.
