"those eyebrows are too submissive" LMAO FR though. Im currently on book 7 and in the height of my sims addiction, your video scratch an itch i didn't know i had
Hey, just realized I watched and commented on a tone of video this afternoon. I swear I’m not a weirdo, you were just the peeerfect background to switch my summer clothes with the winter stuffs in my wardrobe. I’ll keep watching!
Going through all my comments now and nooo not weird! Happy you're here! I'm also in that mood of switching to all my summer clothes and forgetting about the cold
Not gonna lie, the podcast mic is a good visual accessory for your video (on top of the sound quality bonus that comes with it). If it’s not a pain to get it out on camera every time you want to film, I’d say use it again. It gives "I ain’t a professional radio host, but I could be" 🎙️
Isn’t Kate characterization in the Bridgerton book very different from the show version? But I get the allure of the steam : I flipped through a few of the middle chapters of the Romancing Mister Bridgerton (the Penelope/Colin one) to check out the famous carriage scene and I got sucked in. Pun intended?
I kinda want to try some Stephen King, but his well known books are so famous I already know the whole plot and the rest is hit or miss from what I hear. So its hard to get a recommendation. I need to find some of his short stories…
Somebody need to make a « top 10 ways to trick yourself into reading your og tbr » video, because at this point it’s definitely not gonna happen for me unless I’m, like, stuck in a four hour train ride with no phone (which would never happen unfortunately) and picked one of said tbr by accident instead of whatever I’m currently reading.
Wow, you managed to sell me a thriller. I usually do not enjoy those but keep looking for one I would like. I now really need to check ou No Exit by Taylor Adams.
Looking forward to your opinion on the Djeli Clark. I DNFed his book Master of Djinn because I couldn’t get into the characters stories but I did really like his writing and world building. I think he has a background in history, which showed beautifully. Depending on what you say, I might pick up Ring Shout. I’m also curious about what you think of the Sanderson cosy fantasy. I love Mistborn, but its very much in my alley since I like massively long high fantasies. I seem to only enjoy my cosy when it comes in mystery form and takes place somewhere in Britain, but I wouldn’t mind giving this genre another go.
Just heard on the last Control Your Shelf podcast that you now have a channel! I can’t believe I missed that for so many months, but I’m soooo happy I get to binge all these videos now. I love your vibes 🥀 🌞 (and I might possibly hate your taste in books, but that means I either really love to hear you talk about it or that I am one step further into becoming fully obsessed by the very things I now despise).
I really enjoyed June Farrow and hope you will too! I just added Hollow Fires to my TBR, that sounds interesting! This month some of the books I’m hoping to read are Half a Soul, Once Upon a Broken Heart, The Way of Kings, What the River Knows, and The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi! 😊
I haven’t watched Brooklyn 99 before but I’ve seen clips and it seems so funny!! I feel like the closest thing I’ve read with a solving crime and found family type of feel is The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It’s YA so the humor isn’t as similar but still some of the same tropes! 😊
I am SO excited for Middle of the Night and the wacky twists Riley Sager always serves us. ALSO ZA....I am like halfway through #7 and I know how it ends and I am having such a hard time trying to finish it. 😂 I must though before 9 comes out.
I loved Ace of Spades so I’m also excited for Where Sleeping Girls Lie! Some releases I’m looking forward to reading include Emily Henry’s new book, the next book in The Housemaid series, Somewhere Beyond The Sea (sequel to Cerulean Sea), A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping, How To Solve Your Own Murder, Bride, The Fury, and A Tempest of Tea! 😊
Wait ....but everything you complained about Iron Flame is the exact things I complained about Fourth Wing tho 😂😂😂😂 Those books are way too unnecessarily long and keeps repeating itself 😂
@@flowerreadsalot I totally get this too!! Like, there are guilty pleasure series that I would go "yeah, I heard you, it's trash but it's MY type of trash!!! I read it 3 times and I love them to death" but then they wrote a sequel and it's the exact same shit, just longer and more unreasonable whines.... Please, can I have something different? Maybe crumble it a different way? Burn it? Dip it in water?
I love the fireplace vibe with the bookshelf in the background! 😍 I enjoyed Iron Flame but definitely not as much as Fourth Wing, haha, we’ll see how the next book is... My favorite books in January and February were The Hate U Give, Crescent City, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Ruthless Vows, and The Girl With the Louding Voice!
Thank you!! I’m hoping Rebecca Yarros takes a little more time to write this next one 🫢 Ugh Tress of the Emerald Sea has been on my list for so long! Maybe this is my sign to finally get to it!
@@flowerreadsalot yeah I hope so too, especially with how thick these books are! Do it, Tress was such a fun book and such an enjoyable reading experience! I miss it 😆
The first Mistborn book was my least favorite, because Vin just gives off a lot of "I'm not like other girls" vibes for awhile. It gets better, plus the books get better as you get POVs from other characters. But TBH, it all became super worth it when I started reading Era 2. Those characters are so much better, in my opinion. One of the main POV characters knows he has certain flaws and it's refreshing to see someone be self aware, yet still make mistakes and then try to be better and just the development of other side characters. And interactions that side characters have. The moments of humor in Era 2. Everything is so great so far. I'm kinda sad that the only book I have left from this series is the last one, cause that means its over after that.
You lost me at Broken Bonds and found me again at Icebreaker. I hated Icebreaker sooooooo bad SOLELY because of Stassi. She was SO manipulative and used therapy as a weapon. She would gaslight Nate ALL THE TIME if he would have a different opinion than her that he would respectfully express, but meanwhile accepted the most insane psychological abuse from her roommate, and that whole situation was glossed over at the end of the book. It was insane and I hated it.
Omg you’re the first person that I’ve seen also talk about how she uses her therapy experience!! Weaponize is a great word because she mentioned it literally the whole book meanwhile her roommate situation was going on. Liiiike it was bad enough on it’s own but not what I’m looking for in a romance especially
