In the description now. Flamer is good because it isn't affected by hit mass at all so clearing clumps of enemies is easy, and the weaknesses are covered by Combat Blade + Throwing Knife.
Remember, folks, tier lists are mostly suggestive, if there’s a weapon that you think belongs higher than it probably does for you or if you think there’s a weapon that deserves to be lower, it probably does for you use what you like and what works best for your style.
So interesting how you rank these. I'm very different in some areas. You're probably a better player than me. Heavy Eviscerator Chain Sword in C i have in S - it's so great to me! Chain Axe in B i have in A+ (I love the new one, hate the old one) all the heavy swords I have in D... I hate them! We align on daggers as S+. The crusher power maul in S - I *love* that badboy. I need to give the new smaller chain sword a go... I've been ignoring that one.
clearly you dont play ogryn because if you did you'd know that the shield is an easy S+ tier with no doubt. Great crowd control, great survivability, can take aggro if running the taunt tree from gunners and is great at killing everything except monstrosities and crushers.
I wouldn’t put it in S+. It struggles too much to kill armor and the boss damage is nonexistent, and the terrible mobility (pretty sure you get 2 dodges before it goes negative, correct me if I’m wrong) keep it from going higher. I agree it’s probably higher than where I put it, but A is the highest it can go, especially Compared to the brunt bully mk III or the powerhouses that are the pickaxes.
Ogryn slab shield is.. by far the best weapon in game.. wtf ???? clearly you dont know much about Ogryn. at higher tier it shines.. defense > offense.. leave that to the Psykers and veteran if you want to do damage..
@@Morggy69 slab shield doesn’t handle armor or bosses well at all and has a very low dodge limit and low dodge distance. Outside of horde clearing I feel shield ogryn is too reliant on their team to handle real threats. Also it’s a lot easier to get caught by a trapper or hound because of this.
Thank you for the build and videos, as a new zealot player this has been helpful to see how to leverage the mobility and bleed/dot skills along with how to prioritize targets to support the team.
Btw homie lgs into piercing fang combies into anyone with less than 75 poise idk why If you happen to invade the storehouse be certain its mainly crutchers and gank squads
this AoW would be an S tier if it had either a: a) follow up attack (like the twin axes), or b) had a small aoe at the end (kinda like a mini thunder explosion or somthn)
I agree with about everything but i think so many are over looking the Achlys Mk VIII Combat Axe. It has the best hoard clear of the combat axes, and still does wild single target damage if you know how to get into heavy 2 quick. It has an amazing push attack into heavy 1 into light 2 that just cleans up really good. I think A would be a good spot just because of the more complex nature of its attack set ups. takes a little more brain power then just spamming left click.
Slab shield in C tier... Are we even using the same weapon? With brutal momentum + skullcrusher the H1 - block - H1 combo destroys everything short of a monstrosity and L1 - H2 - L1 - H2 works wonders on mixed hordes. It's not an S tier but it's not a C tier either (especially considering the other weapons you put there).
It's a better version of Paul imo, even after the buffs. But it will literally never kill a monstrosity and is mostly for horde clear and survivability, especially against gunners which is fine. It kills everything a lot slower compared to the other weapons, and having a good offense is just better.
@@hrupalwens5001 what are you talking about? Paul at most can keep enemies staggered/ragdolled while the slab shield easily and safely kills crushers/maulers/ragers and one shot all the specials (except for the muty) while at the same time it is great in dealing with mixed hordes. All in all it''s a well rounded A tier weapon who can manage every single thing the game throws at you (except monstrosities).
@@stefanorid7989 tbh yeah. It's definitely better than the tac axes. The main issue though is that it takes too long to kill things compared to other Ogryn weapons, and most ogryn weapons stagger ragers as well. Though I disagree with crushers, it takes a minute.
I love playing ogryn but man I wished they had another shield, the sheer power of the pick and shovel is great but the shield has crowd, strike, and a block. Range is one of the biggest downside of ogryn but the shield counters it
Mk IV Chainaxe with Thunderous + Bloodletter blessingd is wild! It's normally A+ yes, but with the synergy of these particular blessings and maybe add +20 damage vs Unyeilding and +20 damage vs Infested it becomes a truly devastating weapon. It might well be S tier if you get those blessings. It kills crushers and Maulers with a few light attacks, it tears up Monstrosities and even a Daemonhost. All with the light attack. The revv actually seems to do less damage vs Monstrosities than spamming the light attack which is a bit weird. At least the 4 lights damages more than the one revv in the same time. The weaknesses are reach and horde clear. You basically single shots one enemy after another like you do with the Combat axes. So it's doable just not what it does best. Be ready to block and dodge not just mow like you can with a chainsword.
That's a good point actually, I didn't know Chainaxe got that blessing. It can go to 8 stacks so you can put up to 40% rending on a target. Since it applies to everything but unarmored enemies, it can be argued it's a better blessing than headtaker.
@@hrupalwens5001 The math of the game mechanic is probably more complex but this is how it feels playing: The Thunderous Blessing cracks the defense of carapace so the crusher bleeds massively from the Bloodletter like lesser enemies do and it goes down after a few light hits -unless you hit an arm. The Bloodletter text says it adds bleed stacks to revv damage, but the Mk 4 has partial revv on the light attack as you can see with the animation so you get the bleed stacks. I wish thunderous existed for the Mk XV Chainsword. I think it has bloodletter. Maybe I'll experiment more with that as well. Chain weapons are so cool.
@@hrupalwens5001 Ok I misundetstood the damage shown in the Psykhaanum. I only get the bleed splatter animation when using the ripsaw special attack so that's got to be the bleed, except if I also pick the skill. On having played on Damnation with various Chainaxes with different blessings now I see that the critical blessing is Thunderous, the other one can be pretty much whatever you want but Headtaker is a good one. I also added +25% Infested Damage and +25% Unyeilding Damage, it worked well on everything including monstrosities.
Thank you for a great list and especially acknowledging the New Chainsword! :) It usually gets a bad rep and graded down in lists like this due to the non-horizontal "not optimal" attack pattern compared to the older variant. But that's from people who don't know how to use it I guess? It's my favorite for my Zealot main especially. With a fast attack skill tree speed build the light attacks are very fast, not quite like a combat blade or dueling sword but nearly while doing far more base damage. It has a high number of cleave so it can damage a large amount of enemies if you manage to hit them, but cuts diagonally so for players not used to how to do it they will just hit 2 or 3 enemies and struggle vs large groups of enemies. The trick to using them for good horde clear is that the diagonal attacks need to be swiped left and right with the mouse to hit many opponents in a horde, even a back-and forth Z-mouse attack for multi hitting the same enemies if someone needs exta attention. For even more effect step sideways with it as well. If you also have a stamina curio and a few stamina regen and can keep this up at high speed it's off to the races. It's like running a rampaging lawnmower through a horde if done right. I find that 4 heavy normal attacks takes care of Damnation level Maulers (usually, avoid hitting arms though and get the head if possible), the only enemies who need revv-attacks are Crushers, bosses and Monstrosities. It is funny to catch a Rager or Mutant with it but not really necessary. Damage is crazy high damage if you manage a heavy revv attack and just ok for a light revv attack, so you need to make sure to make the heavy attack and time it right after revving up. It's good at killing monstrosities even though it takes a few revv attacks usually and very good for bursting boss-bubbles. The downside is the relatively short reach, shorter or same as Ragers have, where an Evisc has no trouble as the reach is huge this shorter version does have trouble there. You learn to deal with it over time but it's what was the hardest for me to learn how to do. Use fury to charge in and shock them and take the first one in a group out with the auto crit that creates, then flank so you get off line to them on their side as they chain-attack forward, once their attacks start they are linear and only turn between attack-chains. Attack and slide out of their attacks and circle. If in a chaotic mess of a melee with lots of Ragers keep sliding/ dodging and attacking. Mouse swiping is of course useful for other weapons with high cleave but horizontal or diagonal attacks. I use it with all the Pick-axes with my Ogryn for instance.
All weapons can be used for any of the games' difficulty levels if you're a great player, but some are just objectively better than others from a mechanics/ DPS output point of view. I adore the Evisc, I played my first 300 hours as Zealot with one. The sound and look of it is the coolest in-game and I would love for it to be S-tier but is just isn't. I'd put both versions on A-tier and maybe A+ for the old one, if only for the surprisingly long reach and the push-attack. But the newer one is too slow to engage full revv damage and the old one not damaging enough for the relative slow attack speed it has imho. Both shine at horde clear certainly, but it's slow and suffer from it at higher intensity gameplay where you need to be fast on your feet. So even though I'd rate it a bit higher than Hrup, his evaluation of their weaknesses are sound at least to me. That said, keep doing your thing Zealot! If you weild the Eviscerator in the Emperors name it is a worthy cause.

These are pretty good fights. Especially when you're fighting multiple people. But if you're in a 1 V 1 and you back off and heal, you gotta respect the fight and let the other guy heal too.

blinkbolt is the most useless ash of war ever made in the entire game , the dlc is good, but the 90% of ashes of war and incantations/spells are trash TIER they spend two fucking years to do a dlc with their 90% of spells USELESS and trash tier
