Written September 23, 2024 Doesn’t look half bad. Obviously it’s not going to look like PS5/PC visually but it’s the full game and looks comparable as a PS5/PC game. I mean, you can’t really expect much from devs who port mobile console games generally with Low graphics in mind to preserve battery life. Trade offs have to happen somewhere…
I think a 40fps cap would be a really good idea for iPhone games. Seems the iPhone can run it and it wouldn’t burn as much battery or run as hot as uncapped.
Dude I’m still impressed that this game is on Nintendo Switch and you pull out a MOBILE VERSION. Now I can explore my favorite derelict space station anywhere!
nah i rather choose a cheap android phone with 120hz oled screen for 500bucks, 1k for a gaming pc and use moonlight gamestream to play at native resolution max settings with stable 120fps without heat up the phone lol
it’s on storage gaming…..the fact that yall complain about what apple does and don’t but yet name one android that can play re7/8/4remake death stranding on device not streaming without a frame drop and over heat……..
Hello @mrmacrightplus, and to everyone else here. The values to adjust has to match the order in the graphics settings on Mac. It's possible to set Texture Quality at 5 which should be the equivalent of High (1GB), as it's the sixth option. 0 is the first option which is Low (0GB). In my testing, the game is more prone to crash though, which is sad as values lower than five is visually the same as having it set to 1, which is the default. The max value for Mesh is 3 (which is Max on macOS), and the default here is 2 (High). There's a visible difference here, and should be safe having it on 3. Have not experienced any crashes yet. It should have about a 2% percent impact on performance, and can't say how it affects heating on the battery. I could comment on the hair issue that many keep pointing out. The default in the config.ini has MetalFX set to 1 (Quality) and Resolution to 0 (lowest). This is merely a resolution issue, and due to the temporal upscaling several frame ahead, keeping a consistent look, therefore the hair looks pixelated. Up:ing the resolution solves it to a better degree, but more resource-intense. The compromise is to set MetalFX to 2 (Performance) and the Resolution to 2, giving a noticeably sharper image and better looking hair in movement, as spatial upscaling is only the current frame. Any movement reverts to the lower resolution it upscales from, which gives a blurry look, but when standing still it looks sharp. The higher app resolution also helps make the hair look much less pixelated in a fixed position. You can set the resolution to 3, which is the max resolution. Anything over 3 is not recognised and reverts to 0. However, while possible to play in performance, in quality you see a noticeable performance hit below 30 fps, and the battery heats up rapidly. But for testing, it sure does look gorgeous. There is an alternative, to set MetalFX to 0, resolution to 3, and Anti-Aliasing to 2. Not as sharp, but the highest native sharpness you can get. It does run stable on 30 fps, but how it affects the battery I can't say. This also eliminates the hair and ghosting issue that's introduced with MetalFX, as it's running in a higher resolution natively. After many tests, I settled on the best compromise, in my opinion, which is the app resolution at 2, and MetalFX at 2 (performance). You can restore effects that were turned off, like Lens Distortions, Depth of Field, Lens Flares, Terrain (Tesselation), Rain Quality and Particle Lighting Quality. Subsurface Scattering is useless as it's played on a small screen. I have yet to experiences issues or crashes. These effects have negligible hits on performance, except for DOF maybe. Again, can't say how it affects battery heating. CAPCOM set default values in the config.ini for a reason. I did try SSR, but could not see a difference, so my reasoning is that it's a feature that does not work. The same goes for Strandhair. I have yet to try Ambient Occlusion, Contact Shadow, Resource-Intense Lighting and Effects Quality. Now if you want blissful 60 fps, then set the app resolution to 0, Frame Rate at 2, and MetalFX either to 2 (Performance) or 0. However it's not a pretty looking image though, one both too pixelated and soft, and the other veeery soft. All tests were performed on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Maybe you could try these out and see how much the battery heat up. Would be interesting to see if there's a temperature difference. Could potentially save one from overheating the battery 😅
@@cia4gent128more of a testament to the abilities of TSMC than Apple. It's nice to see phones performing this well, but most mid-range phones have efficient GPU cores to render these graphics with phones, and low end APUs to perform better as well.
@@cia4gent128 Apple is not responsible for those process shrinks, TSMC is, they wouldn't even have to design their own chips to reach those performance levels they could just license ARM SOCs.
@@juno1597 wtf are you talking about 🤣🤣 TSMC can make 3nm transistors and apple designed their chipsets to be fitted to 3nm! It’s called “SiP”…look at intel they can’t design their chips to be fitted into 3nm! That’s why they are stuck with 10nm! And they make TSMC make chipsets for them too!
why so much coping?be happy apple opens the door for the rest of the companies to do better….maybe android could play on device AAA games like gta or something…..because the more android trolls keep discouraging ppl to not get mobile gaming no one not even samsung users wont get the correct proficient tech to be able to deliver great things…..
Just reading the title alone is WILD. The fact that we'll probably be able to play GTA 6 on a pair of glasses in the near future is MINDBLOWING to even think about...
People complaining about the graphics and the frame rate. Bro? People wants that iPhone take photos like a professional Cannon, wants that the battery Lasts longer for 1 month, wants iphone running games like a high ending pc, everything at same time. 😂😂😂😂😂. Even a ps4 run this game at 30. Why tf would a thin cellphone do this better?
People can knock if, but I think this shit is very impressive. A phone is running a full version of a modern game (RE4). A Switch probably would not do as well as this phone is doing and the iPhone is a pocket device you carry with you all the time. That being said, I think the better move would be for Apple to target older games that are easier to run on their phone(something like Skyrim?). There’s tons to choose from.
I cannot believe this is running at 60fps on an iphone. I'm glad I waited to get the 16 pro max. I knew the graphical increases would be worth skipping on the 15 pro max.
Dissapointing, a game ported natively for a 1 Gen old device running almost the same like Android emulated pc version. 😢 The only bennefit is the VRAM & RAM consumption, maybe the temps a bit...
@@pipooon if you are too lazy to get out of the bed and just sit on the fcking chair to enjoy the best gaming experience then thats ur fault Or just buy a gaming laptop or handheld console lol
