Chitty Chitty Bang Bang should have been a Disney movie, but it ended up being produced by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer because the book it was based on was written by the same author as James Bond, the movie rights to which were already owned by MGM.
I wish this is on Apple Music stream app. The extended one with the Chu-Chi Face waltz featured at Baron’s birthday party before the child battle for freedom came about. My favorite scores The Sherman Brothers and Irwin Kostal wrote alongside Charlotte’s Web and The Slipper and the Rose (not by Irwin Kostal as Arranger to be correct).
To anyone wondering about the red speedster at 0:34, she was saved and put into preservation after filming, she's just as spectacular now as she was then and is probably one of my favorite racers from the opening of this beloved film!
THE SINGER'S (THAT SOUND LIKE THE DISNEY CHORUS) SOUND LIKE THE SINGERS LIKE THE SINGERS THAT SING DRIP DRIP DROP LITTLE APRIL SHOWER FROM WALT DISNEY'S BAMBI.
THE WOMAN ON THE CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG PICTURE BOOK TRACK (THIS LOVELY LONLEY MAN) SOUNDS LIKE PEGGY LEE (WHO DID THE LADY DOG FROM WALT DISNEY'S LADY AND THE TRAMP) WELL ALMOST SONDS LIKE HER.
THE PICTURE ALBUM ON THIS CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG DELUXE EDITION CD DO SOUND ALMOST LIKE THE WALT DISNEY STUDIO'S CHORUS LIKE THE DISNEY STUDIO (ADULT) CHORUS
R.I.P Frederick Rowland Emett OBE (22 October 1906 - 13 November 1990), known as Rowland Emett (with the forename sometimes spelled "Roland" [as his middle name appears on his birth certificate] and the surname frequently misspelled "Emmett"), was an English cartoonist and constructor of whimsical kinetic sculpture.
Always wondered who had the original? Cheers to you Peter - I had the chance to meet you in 2003 when Gino from WEDA stopped by your house during Lord of The Rings filming.😎
I proposed to my wife after seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang The musical in London back in 2004, so it seemed only right that we try and get Chitty as our wedding car. I contacted Pierre Picton at the time and was lucky enough to book the car for the wedding day! Pierre was a lovely gent and just as you see him in the video. Chitty took my wife from our house to the church and then the both of us to our reception venue, and as we drove along Pierre played the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang theme on load speakers hidden in the car. He even gave us a toy Corgi Chitty model car as a memento. After Pierre’s passing the car was sold at auction and was purchased by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson who had it shipped to New Zealand where it now resides. I feel very lucky to have ridden in this very car and have wonderful memories, photos and video of it at close quarters. It’s 20 years this October since we were in it, but it’s wonderful to be able to say we had the real Chitty parked on our drive.
I sincerely hope that after Pierre Picton passes away that he bequeaths this car to a Museum to where it can be taken care of and preserved for future generations. "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" is one of the few Movie Musicals that I really enjoy. The other two (2) are :The Sound of Music" (1965) with Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews and "1776" (1972). Edit: After I had posted my initial comment, I took the time to read some of the other comments and found out that Pierre Picton had passed away. I'd very much appreciate if you could post an update of what had happened to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" (aka "GEN 11").
There were originally six but only one was drivable and still exists today aka the one In the video, however over the years there have been replicas made of the vehicle.
