It’s really hard to hear Andrew. Would be great if you boosted the volume of your interviewees in the future. Thanks for the really informative interview!
"Why you should find some loose meaning to rationalize laying thousands of people off and removing jobs from the market that people can use to make a living and support their families and replace them with some AI software because it saves your companies some money". All "AI" should be outlawed. There is absolutely no need for it.
Pretty crappy demo of Power BI. It's why you use Import instead of DirectQuery when possible. and you use the "semantic model" in Power BI to publish data to end users and analysts via Power BI datasets instead of raw tables.
I've been following your posts with interests, it seems like this long existing gap in functionality within the "modern" data stack looks to be filled. So in this example, is it Snowflake running the queries? Does AtScale work out which queries to run against Snowflake similar to how Power BI (SSAS) Works out what queries to run against the Source? Lastly: I think the cartesian product claim: have you actually looked what queries were issues against the source? Seemed to run way too fast for a cartesian product.
We're curious to hear your thoughts on machine learning in gaming, and AI based chatbots like ChatGPT being used in various situations. Where do you think the future is headed for online gaming?
Hello, it was nice short video i liked it. I have a requirement somewhat similar to it. I have redshift cluster with multiple tables. now i want to connect it with excel so that user dont have to write the query. in the excel it should be in dropdown format for user to select and get the data directly in excel. Can you guide me how to proceed with this or how should i start it? Thanks
I can understand the trepidation about VR, but to play devil's advocate, there were so many misgivings and misinformation about television even years after its ubiquity. I'll never encourage people to go into something they're not comfortable with, but I think that in the right environment and as things become more advanced, someone who is into screen-based gaming certainly CAN make that transition if they're so inclined.
Is the gold layer in Databricks really necessary when using AtScale? What I have read, the gold layer is mostly aggragations and that is what you dont need and should not do when using AtScale right?
Based on my experience with the semantic/self service-style lakehouse, when the data quality is bad enough you kind of need the Gold Zone for flexibility because you are free to partition and filter it however you want, while you want to keep the number of Silver tables to a minimum and possibly partition them on a date field for MERGE deduplication.
Nice Demo. Made perfect sense. I have been telling my company for years we needed better cube generators between the data systems (like Snowflake) and our BI tools. This is cubes on steroids. Nicely done.
Hello Atscale Team, I have a question, can we connect the Atscale to Databricks Deltalake, just like how we connect to Redshift? If yes, which of these two(Deltalake, Redshift) would provide a better performance for Tableau reporting?
The concept of AtScale is great. As AtScale is using the MS Analysis Services connection in Excel, does this means you can use Excel CUBESET functions over an AtScale universal Semantic model?
