@@showb4theshow Turns out that after Blue Devils were done using them, my high school bought all the drums and used them from 2011 to 2020. Once we got new drums last year, it left these relics in storage. I asked the band director if I could get a Blue Devils 2010 Snare and Tenor and he sold em both to me for 300 bucks! I marched Euphonium this year . I'm on the far right in the back. Usually, when we did indoor clinics we'd pump the breaks on the volume so we wouldn't demolish the audience. During rehearsal prior to the clinic, that staff didn't say anything about pulling back on volume. I asked the staff if we should pull back or not and they said to go full bore... so we did. It was ridiculous and it hurt. This was in a small auditorium, and I think the audience didn't really respond because the amount of sound was truly overwhelming. Good times.
This show is just phenomenal. It blows me away every time I listen. I wanted to March DCI so bad but wasn’t good enough to even try out. Marching in high school and college are my best memories in life. This show though...man. I get goosebumps around the 7:00 mark everyyyyy time.
As one of the members of that audience, it was definitely surreal and we were all definitely blown away. It's one of the reasons why I ended up marching.
I could be wrong, but I don’t necessarily think that it was dirty, and more that the camera’s mic couldn’t handle how loud it was and that made it sound fuzzy.
Camera audio wasn't the best due to placement but it was still definitely over hyped which caused the dirt. The non Drum Corps folks that were there dug it though, which is all that truly mattered for this show.
I had a nostalgic moment when they started playing Jupiter from the Planets, currently am a Freshman in High School and we played the entire Planets this past season.
How can those people in the audience just sit there on their hands? This show was glorious. I'm surprised this auditorium didn't have stuff falling from the ceiling.
They play this waaayy faster towards the end of the 2013 season. Prime example is this video right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XO4x06zSucE.html at the 0:53 mark. Sounds way groovier faster if this tempo is too boring for you. Also cleaner as well.
