Thank you, Debbie You are making me want to use watercolour in my mixed media, too. I absolutely love the effect you get! These are gorgeous paintings. I used to tear my watercolour paper removing tape until I heard about heating the tape with a hair dryer prior to removing. It rarely tears anymore!
Debby, you’re a star! ⭐️ I love how you took those techniques and made beautiful work. Love those fearless marks you made with the skinny brayer and pastels. Thank you so much for the mention. I subscribed so I can see more of your work! 😍
I have a question that I can seem to get the answer to. Can you put handmade watercolor paint in a tube? All I see making it puts it in pans, but I like tubes. Please advise. Thanks
Yes, you can purchase empty watercolor tubes. They hold a larger quantity of each color, load from the bottom and not sure about closing them. There might be a tool to roll and crimp.
Nice abstracts!! Is there a reason (book's structural integrity?) to working on pages from first - last toward the center of a book? I think gesso would help strengthen the paper.
Hey Debby! I just got these journals the other day. So do you gesso and paint all your pages first? I guess by doing that it gives you a direction to see what else you want to use.
I did gesso all the pages. I also recommend working front, center, back then repeat to help with spine damage. It doesn't like to get fluffy. When I start the second one I am only working on right side and adding just a quote on right side to see if it helps with the center spine issues
@@debbyepps thanks so much, great reminder to work it that way. Glad I rewatched and learned about the gesso also. Enjoyed it just as much as the first time!
