this is literally amazing to watch. i had only heard of "the war effort" from my neighbor that were in the 40's when the war was on. they told me about victory gardens, etc.
id love to see them restored back to their glory. This video was made when US 12 was the main highway between Chicago and Detroit before I 94 and 96 took away the traffic...
You post alot of racism. You miss your white days. All these videos of Gary when your white ass ruled the city then you destroy it cuz you can't have an all white face city. Why white people?
I’ve been looking for any history about this plant. I worked there for 21 years before it was sold to a company called Tenoco. Thank you for uploading.
Ganassi racing uses this 7/8 mile tunnel to test their race setups. Each end has a turntable built into the floor/ground to turn the car around on. One end houses a truck bay , workshop area and area for the race engineers to download and analyze data from each run of the car. I spent a few days there back in 2005 testing a custom active suspension system we built for the Indycar test vehicle.
Need more info. So far i think you have been the first person to publicly speak about this place and what goes on inside, besides what Chip himself has said, only that "yeah this place exists, its not much of a secret, and thats all ill say." did you work for Chip Ganassi Racing? or ?? do they let other firms/teams use this place too? this seems like the perfect place for F1 teams to get around the ban on full scale testing. this place is just another example of the extremes racing teams will go to to get some kind of advantage over the competition.
@@gearheaddave9639 I think I seen a Sasquatch there too. I'm on the turnpike every day. Never seen anything coming or going out of this place. How about picture of cars on the premises?
@@morganchatsworthiii9178 The team would enter the turnpike at Somerset and cross the median onto the access road driving past the police shooting range. The toll ticket was left on a table just inside the door to the truck bay and a DOT supervisor would sign them so the team vehicles could go back to Somerset. Sometimes the supervisor would open a locked gate allowing access to the county road and the team vehicles would not have to get back onto the interstate. It is not a facility that is used daily. once every few weeks a test car would be trailered to check race setups.
me and a few friends walked thur there and upstairs a few years back I went to the job corps that was in the other side of the fence very scary but interesting
@@rickcski8082 I recently just found this whole story and I’m super intrigued in it all. Out of the thousands of nascar stores I know of, this one stands out quite clearly. Seeing that you worked for CGR and know a bit more about it, are you fine with sharing some more stories about it and all?
