Imo the biggest problem of Last Epoch is its visual design. And the campaign is boring. Visual design is the first thing that catches players attention. Campaign introduces the player into the game. In D4 I reached the endgame where it became boring. In LE I can't bring myself to finish the campaign.
It's not an MMO where the game sucks with less playersl. It sold alot so obviously devs are not puling the servers anytime soon and can affor a few more years of new content.
Different types of players. Not everyone wants to dive deep and study a games mechanics for 1k hours ;) Some just wanna chill with some hack and slash. I like both :D

Not defending Whoopi's takes here, but she has been a long time Diablo enjoyer. She's talked about it on the View and even complained to the devs when D4 launched that they didn't port it to Mac unlike their previous titles. I think she's been down with the franchise since Diablo 2.
LE is in the best place it has ever been and continues to get better every patch. I am playing more than season than ever before. Still working on getting my first character to beat the pinnacle, and then a second and third character to end game. Lots of stuff to keep blasting. Also, reminder... end of summer lots of people actually go outside (if you can believe it)
New bosses was fun, but it wasn't that much different than C0. This has the same issue D4 had S0 was nothing but NMD over and over. S1 did the same thing just with powers. It got boring fast. C0 we only had Monoliths and C1 is nothing but Monoliths. That's why S1 ended so fast for everyone on LE. Looking forward to C2 and hopefully we're not spamming Monoliths again. So is it dead already? Yes for this cycle. It'll come back again for the next cycle but PLEASE something NOT Monolith spamming.
While I agree, I highly doubt actual new content-mechanics will be added with the next cycle. They are still fleshing out the core game. Much like D4 did... and much like D4 got good with Season 4, so LE will be really good once 1.4 hits imo ;)
It's not dying, PoE just dropped new season and it's fun. Honestly, every seasonal aRPG should stagger their seasons, it will help people stay engaged. I like playing all of them, but can only play one at a time.

You must be new here because I am one of the ONLY few creators who only speak positively about D4 (not blizzard, but D4). I love the game. I think it's really good in its current state!

If I understand the context correctly... The question of whether blizzard has a need to do this form of promotion instead of promoting the game itself through the player's point of view is of course another discussion.

Its legit just a standard thing every arpg player does , if you dont cycle arpg games especially when the leagues get ruined by exploits you will just get bored of the genre all together and quit for long periods of time

People need to remember path of exile wasnt great for 3-4 years. Maybe even 5 years some would say. Last epoch is young for an arpg, it needs time to grow.
There's obviously some truth to this, but there's also a humongous difference. Last epoch has had the example of poe the entire time it was being created, as well as the years of early access and release. There's just no excuse for certain things being in the stat they're in. A lot of last epochs biggest problems are deliberate design decisions. Stuff like the faction ranks in their trade league. It's horrible. With poe existing, why try to reinvent the wheel there? Why tie slamming to dungeons instead of making it a currency that could replace gold? Why aren't crafting materials tradable in the bazaar? Why can't you search by affix values? It's unacceptable.

GGG on the other hand has been doing this for 11+ years, and the beginning was also rough. I guess the difference here is experience.
Class design is properly excellent Endgame content is properly garbage (nothing fun pushing corruption, nothing fun doing 17s monolith, nothing fun in dungeon or arena, faction rep grind every season is batshit crazy) And the campaign is the worst in the ARPGs genre. Just leveling to monolith is soul crushing (yeah it's not long, it's still vomit inducing) Dupe on every cycles is also demoralizing.
I agree with everything except campaign. I dont find it to be THAT bad lol Also you can go through it kinda fast imo. Still, I want a skip campaign function regardless
Im so mad that gaming went mainstream, this is so dumb. Why does everyone care so much about this bullcrap, just play the game if you want to. Its that simple. I miss the days where you just buy a game and play it. Thats it, no one cared about anything else other than their own experience, which is what really matters....
Humans are herd animals. They flock to the most successful games. The ones with the most players. But I agree, it's all due to social media, which I am still not sure if it was a positive or a negative to mankind ;)
Last season people were having fun, pushing 2k, 3k corruption and having a blast. Now.. people are barely breaking 1k corruption.. It's not as fun. Also... There are very few builds that just blast up the content this cycle, and there are soo many skills that are complete trash. When was the last Disintegrate build you saw? just for example.
according to Mike, s developer. Mike said that the game was not intended to be blasting corruption in triple digits or quad digits. If a build is blasting that much corruption, he says that it is either a bug or we have made massive error in balancing the skill. When i asked why this was, he said that playing a build for that long is boring and long grind. the thing that doesn't make much sense is that latest patch for last epoch allows you grind your corruption on highest timeline and then immediately catch-up said corruption. This massively reduces any grind to said corruption. So I wonder that philsophy on gate keeping corruption in triple/quad digits changes over-time. If their target corruption was single digits, than it is technically hitting right on the mark this season. whether that is good or fun is debatable.
@@dodang_9147 I just find it funny that they plan to implement more acts or whatever to the storyline when people don't want to complete it as it is. I did it twice, and I'll never do it again because it's not worth my time.
@@Avengent i mean if they don't want to complete it as is, they don't want to play the game period. i'd say larger issue is that most skills aren't balanced for single digits. they're not even balanced for 100 corruption.
You are correct, 1k+ corruption was never intended, and to be honest, grinding corruption is THE SINGLE most boring thing I can think of in a video game. PERSONALLY. You guys seem to like it, but there are people who enjoy just trying different classes, different builds. I never even got a char to lvl100. BORING. TO each their own, and Last Epoch seems to be NOT the game for endless grinds. It's closing in more and more on Diablo 4 in my eyes.
@@alexxortv i think only reason to grind corruption is to see shiny legendary potencial uniques. it is basically to see thrill of getting something that nobody else has. The unfortunate problem is that most unique suck so there is no reason to switch builds after grinding 2500 corruption because nothing else is viable enough. this is why this game has potencial to die because of repetitive gameplay where same builds stay at the top and nothing really changes. that's season 2 in a nutshell.
I see that the curve keeps going down, so what's the lie? It's normal for this to happen, because you finish these games once and there's little left to discover, and playing a new character from the beginning doing the whole campaign again is boring.
I do not care about the online players count as I play solo CoF and it is fun indeed. But what I care about is that almost non of the content creators is making any content compared to the previous cycle. This makes me feel that the game is abandoned
I just bought the game a couple days ago, im having so much fun with this, I play also diablo4 and poe and let me tell you this game is gonna be really amazing with time, no doubt about it.
Last Epoch is fantastic and will only improve, but clearly its bleeding players to PoE's new league. That said, LE needs more Masteries and gear/set improvements for greater play and replay variety, and a wider breadth of challenges to throw them at. Whatever the case, it's not even close to being a dying game.
People in a nutshell: Left because they were expecting to beat Aberroth on the first day so they could post it on Discord, then realised it wasn't so easy and went back complaining about D4 being too easy and needing more of a challenge.
Tbh i think most people left since the poe league just came recently. I feel like theres no enough gap between these arpg season releases, we can only play so many arpgs at a time lmao
People that left were Poe players that play LE as next league waiting game. They don’t care about epoch and you shouldn’t count them lol. When Poe 2 hits they will never come back to LE. Only players it’s worth fighting for are old timers and D4 playerbase.
Thats not even why poe players leave lmao every single player that plays arpgs for long time cycles between multiple games thats the only way to not get bored of the genre , not to mention last epoch just doesnt have much content yet so you cant expect anyone to play it trough the entire cycle when you can have 1300 corruption within 2 weeks with a broken build

It much simpler game with deterministic crafting, and almost zero trade. Maybe this is for you playing for few days accomplishing nothing special in game using build from internet.
@@alexxortv i have been in this game since 0.7.1.0 and have a lot a lot of hours in it i really wish it to sucseed since it has offline mode. This league pinacle boss system is something that should have been implemented from the start not a league by itself, the game still feels unfinished to be honest
I'm pretty much tapped out on this cycle. Me and a buddy started fresh cycle characters and that was needless. Starting over with faction rep is brutal. There isn't enough new stuff to keep me going. The monoliths are the same incoherent repetitive experience. The Nemesis are a great idea though.
