you never point impact load a bearing! if you need to drive a race into a bore put it on some dry ice for a couple hours or drive it in by contacting the full face of the race. If that is the general assembly process, I have serious doubts about the life of the unit. I also never saw anything about checking bearing end play. Improper bearing end play will make all the repair work and expense wasted effort.
Hello, i we have a STM BO 801 gear box for our windlass on the boat, i took it apart but when i put it all back, it got noiser… i wonder if i misplace a shims… do you have an idea or videos on assembling this kind of unit? Thank you in advance. Hope you can help.
