What a performance and along with the legendary Glen is Ron and Nancy Reagan and Bea Arthur, icons from a time that we shall never ever see again, Ever Period !!!!!
That's some serious picking! Guitar and banjo playing in harmony to each other, and adding all kinds of runs and extra frills at hyper speed! Just phenomenal talent! 🎸✌️😎
Maestro Fielder, and The Boston Pops Orchestra, while pre-eminent in their own venue, do nothing here but cover the artistry of Glen Campbell on the guitar! You can't hear the guitar!!! TYVM... 😢
One of the joys of YT is discovery. I grew up in the age of Glen Campbell's successful years. I never really gave him that much credit because he was too pop, too middle of the road. Now, that I'm in my 70's and I get to listen again and realize how great he was. I always knew he was a great picker. I'm finding that I am especially appreciating what a great singer he was when you could hear him live. You might be surprised, I never knew who Carl Jackson was before. He floored me with his playing. I'm going to explore.
That's called jerked around by someone touching your nobbs and the orchestra playing way to loud. They are not the star Glen Campbell is.. jealous people are hurtful.
US think of Glen Campbell of been a great musician and enjoy the utmost his Jimmy Webb's songs. One of his last performances in 2000 with the South Dakotta Symphony was memorable keeping a recoding of it, singing his best songs including of course Jimy Webb's colection. He is great in his best country folk pop music and I often accompany his singning with my voice with the Karaoke, for I love singing that happened to be acquainted with it as a member of the school choir when I was still a child.
My second favorite song of all time but still like Sanfaord Townsend Band version best. It is difinatly missing the beginning saxaphone part. The fact he didn't sing an orginal song on the sow tells what a great song this is as even Glen had to do a version.
