Grew up in Zaïre from 70 to 80 when I was a little kid and had the single. As a matter of fact this was the b side of A.I.E. A Mwana. Memories. "After you have drunk one time from the sources of Africa, it never lets you go."
This song was sampled from Franco's song Boma l'heure; which was later popularized even more by Sam Fan Thomas later in the mid 80's as 'African Typic Collection'.
These guys were super talented but like happens with most succesful bands they broke up at their peak, very unfortunate. These guys were second to Osibisa on the African music scene.

Annski777 This song puts me in a happy place. I had it on repeat for nearly two hours coming from work two days ago. Even though I don't speak Swahili, I would appreciate it if you can post the full lyrics. I was a teenager in Nigeria in the 70s when this came out and even though Jesu Wa Basungu was the most popular track from the album in Lagos because of it's disco leanings, this was always my favorite.
Brings back amazing memories, listening to my little radio at night in Liverpool. I found this on a station, not sure which, ordered the single - it took six weeks to arrive!! Still love it!!
