Mother/daughter duo reacting to movies and a few TV shows that either neither of us has seen or we may have seen many moons ago. We do have a love of movies and will be watching a variety of years and genres! Follow along on this movie/TV ride where we give you thoughts on what we think it will be about, react to the movie/show in real-time, and then discuss it after. We hope to bring you just a bit of joy and or laughter to your day 😊

"Sometimes we don't do things we want to do so that others won't know we want to do them." Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Charlie McDermott and Shannon Lambert-Ryan. Music Enthusiast Fact: The intricate violin solos in James Newton Howard's score were performed by acclaimed violin prodigy Hilary Hahn. Basic Training Fact: Director M. Night Shyamalan put the entire cast through a 19th century "boot camp" in order for them to get a good feel for the time period. The Rest Of The Story Fact: Joaquin Phoenix made a wooden walking stick for Bryce Dallas Howard during the 19th-century preparation the actors participated in before the film. He engraved "Ivy" on the walking stick. Sound Effect Fact: According to Steve Boeddeker, the MPAA gave the film an "R" rating due to a single sound effect, which was later removed. It was the sound of the knife stabbing Lucius (Joaquin Phoenix). Boeddeker has stated that the scene worked even better without it.

Enjoyed the reaction very much. The part where the captive crow turns and attacks the villainess' eyes is one of the most righteously satisfying moments in cinema I can recall. Your applause was so infectious I had to clap along myself 😊👏 Good stuff.

A total shame what happened to the actor, Lilo Brochatto, he could imitate DeNiro perfectly, a very natural actor, was in a couple other great movies like Crimson Tide, then got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Went to jail for a long time. Hes still acting and was in The Sopranos, but its not the same.

At 22:21, Imagine for a moment if you will, what actor Ernie Hudson COULD HAVE SAID. "Okay you want to hear the truth? Fine. It's Eric Draven back from the dead. You want to be in charge? You want to investigate? Investigate this! You suck at your job so badly, this town is so corrupt, that Eric's restless soul came back to seek vengence. I'm the only fucking cop who gave a shit about the actual loss of life these criminals are taking, AND YOU, had me demoted for "Stirring things up" too much. You had me demoted for doing my job!!! You throw around your voice, all the time making sure we know how "In charge you are." But you're not being in charge of shit. Eric Draven and Shelly Webster were not casulties. THEY WERE NOT, numbers. THEY WERE PEOPLE! And you let their killers WALK ! Let's hope to god he doesn't consider you responisible too. He kills them using their weapons. What do you think he'd do to you. Rip out your tongue and leave you to choke on your own blood, or kill you with death by a thousand paper cuts? Because paper work is just about all you ever actually do."

At 13:48, the Bird's name was magic. He was such a professional that he could talk on command and fly up into the air, curve around and land on a mark 100% of the time. He even did his own stunts! Rolling over off the ledge by, "Playing dead" when they shoot the crow at the end. He's dead now obviously from old age. But he was so well trained that they used him and him alone in both sequels. As far as birds go, Magic was a professional Broadway theater trained actor.

"Can't rain all the time..." I'm not going to talk about the tragic, accidental death of Brandon Lee. It's a complicated matter beyond the scope of this comment. Not wanting to dismiss his death, but I'm sure there are books and videos out there that can explain that tragedy and do it more justice. RIP Brandon Lee. Fun Fact: One of the ravens used in this film, Magic, was used in all of the following movies up until the terrible remake. Authentic Makeup Effect Fact: Alex Proyas said that Brandon Lee was unhappy with the way his face paint looked when the makeup department applied it to him before shooting. Lee and Proyas then agreed that it would look best if Lee applied his own makeup every night before going to bed so that when he woke up his face paint would naturally look more worn out. Art Through Adversity Fact: Director Alex Proyas originally wanted to shoot the entire movie in "black and white" closer to the comics and only used color in Draven's flashback scenes with a high contrast theme, but the studio executives didn't allow him to experiment with that approach. This made Proyas shoot much of the movie in a monochromatic color theme mixed with red and dark gray.

So a sweet well educated well spoken young woman is rejected by men who say she’s a dog because she’s not conventionally pretty. They only care about her looks and nothing else matters. That’s very sad that such a great girl is only judged by her looks The actress Betsy Blair was married to gene Kelly for many years and they had a daughter. Gene was considered the hottest actor and dancer in Hollywood at that time and could have easily married the most gorgeous actress of that time but he chose Betsy and they had a happy marriage for many years. Eventually they divorced after 15 years and she married someone else for 40 years. She died at age 95

Marty wasn’t nice to Clara when he promised to call her at 2.30 and never did. He knew she’d be hurt because she liked him and was looking forward to the call. He said he liked her too yet never called because his mom and his friends were negative. He should have kept his promise and called her even if it might not pan out because when you promised to call you should keep your word. Instead he didn’t call and left her in tears Not nice to treat a woman like that and especially when you liked her

Part of this is satirising Afrikaners (white South Africans of Dutch descent) who, fairly or unfairly, have the reputation of being very direct and to the point, which outsiders can find rude even though it isn't meant as such. 🙂
