A few years ago, I bought Shelly's book as I am a closet-writer. Soon after, I reignited my love of the Beatles. Now 60 years later, we went to Liverpool in 2022 and now I am catching-up on all that I missed. Better late than never...
Shelly thank you very much 🙏 for giving to the world an amazing song. It's in my Top 5⃣ with Sound of Silence, Sexual Healing, Only You and If I Can Dream. ✌️ 💖 🙏 Levent 🦁
I used to listen to them practice in the Raio Brothers basement outside wishing I could go down and watch them play. They were really good. I was probably about 12 at the time. Now I'm 62. Nice interview TY.
Daryl has lost so much! He usually talks through the high notes or pulls back far away from the mic to disguise that fact! He and Oates are still my favs of all time!!! Carry on!
I have always loved Chrissy Amphlett's voice and rockstar performances, but after recently finding a copy of the Divinyls Live at Boggo Road Jail in an opportunity shop, I realised that Mark McEntee is also a complete rockstar and guitar god. I realised to my horror that I completely underestimated this band, so I went through their back catalogue and found this song. It is now my all time favourite, it speaks to me, frees my suppressed pain and I cry, it is the only song that has ever demanded that I learn to play it on the guitar, I had been struggling to figure out how to play it, but was thrilled to be able to follow your fingering, sing and play along, so therapeutic. I am so glad that you co-wrote this and I love every version, as they all have the same effect. A cry from an injured soul that always touches my heart!
