I have been searching everywhere to purchase presets/patches of Korg M1 house piano, but no one seems to have them. There are several videos here on RU-vid explaining how to make a great house piano sound, but all of them involve using additional EQ, reverb and compression VST's that I don't own, so watching these videos are frustratingly pointless for me. Also, my DAW is ProTools, not Ableton Live or any of the other DAW's shown in these videos. So rather than a) Pay an arm & a leg to purchase more EQ, Reverb & Compression VST's; B) Learn how to use them then C) Come back to these videos and follow the steps to learn how to make my house piano tracks sound better, can I just PAY someone for a darn patch/preset and be done with it? If you have a preset that you can sell me for a killer house piano sound, I would gladly purchase it from you!!!!
Love the M1 piano! If the reverb is an insert and not a bus, not sure how the sidechain would work. Seems like you would add the reverb in a bus and then sidechain the reverb bus to the original piano track to get the reverb to cut out when the transients hit. Other trick is to put a transient shaper on the reverb bus before the reverb and lower the attack to cut out any transients from coming through in the reverb. Make sure to put some Sus2 and Sus4 chords in there for a true MK sound. Will go look for your Organ 2 video now.

It's funny that during the switching from Ableton to Logic everyone has the same "problems". I'd also add the "groups-bus-sends" trouble, much more complicated in Logic compared to Ableton.

The dB technologies speakers you got from personal experience of hearing them actually sound miles better than the rcf range, I would recommend the dB technologies 18inch sub as a upgrade. In my disco rig I run allen and heath xone desk, crown amps with martin audio speaker system technics turntables, light wise I got 4x martin mac 500s with avolites pearl expert but all ex hire kit
Great video nice video, I was asked to supply sound and lighting for my old secondary schools prom I took my trusty newish soundcraft mh4 desk and my crown amps but due to size of hall used groundstacked 8x martin audio w8pc with 8x martin audio sxh218 subs which were hired in. Light wise we hired in 6 Martin mac vipers and 6x Martin atomic 3k
Did you try scanning this folder with ableton ? C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\KORG If there’s no vst plug-in folder, make it yourself and install korg into that. Hope that works 👍🏻
Im currently having issues with my Korg m1 vst. causes logic to crash or the sound distorts and hisses and tings. I have a new MacBook Pro 8gb ram and m1 chip Big Sur. any ideas why this is failing Korg won't get back to me with any details about why it might not be working. have you had Vsts do this before where they act up? sometimes I need to restart my computer 5 times before it recognizes it properly and works fine again. I can't keep doing that.
Seeing your video for the first time and many thanks for filming this 8 years ago!! I have an excellent condition 15GB Dell Jukebox and still use it. MANY years ago my husband felt this was a better purchase than an iPod. It's version 1.10.05 with 3151 tracks that I chose to be recorded; there is still 3996 mb free space on it; unfortunately, it is not blue tooth.

M1 Nice Piano ever, good your process, I always Korg M1 in my productions. I recommend another nice piano by F9 for Kontak, F9 was made by legendary producers of House Music Freemansons, very nice as well.
Great comparison! I find myself going back and fourth between the 2 daws. Only issue with logics browser is it only plays 24 bit and I have a lot of 32 bit samples. Also, the way ableton will play samples already warped to the session tempo is a nice plus- not sure if you figured out a work around for this
Thanks James, you were a brave man making this video (You can bet your bottom dollar the 4 downvotes are from Ableton fans). I just got back into Music Production after a 10-15 year gap (I took an interest during lockdown). I decided for the first time in my life I was going buy an Apple Mac (after being a PC user for all my life), so I pulled the trigger on a 16" 2020 model macbook pro (i9). I downloaded both trials of Ableton Live and Logic Pro (both have like 3 month trial times which is great) and said I would spend about a 2/3 weeks on each one and choose the best for me. That was Logic. It was a no brainer for me, for these reasons 1. Price. £199 for Logic Pro X with free upgrades for life. For Ableron Live 10 Suite its £539 and then you have to pay for major revision upgrades (10 -> 11 etc). I spent the extra pounds I saved on some plugin deals which meant I have Ozone 9 advanced, Neutron 3 Standard, and Nectar 3 and some plugins on top. 2. The whole GUI and design of Logic just felt cleaner and more intuitive. Abletons GUI looked like some sort of freeware quirky app. 3. The stock plugins from what I could tell (I might be wrong here as I only went in so far) appeared to me to be better in Logic, especially the FX. I think if I had built a PC running Windows I might have seen things differently, but having Mac hardware it was just a no brainer to go with Logic.
