Keelan Harvick is a second-generation racer following the path forged by his father, multi-time NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick. The elder Harvick began racing go-karts in his hometown of Bakersfield, California, in 1982. Thirty-eight years later in Mooresville, North Carolina, a seven-year-old Keelan made his racing debut on May 20, 2020 in a go-kart at GoPro Motorplex. He qualified on the pole and finished eighth, and having been firmly bitten by the racing bug, the now eight-year-old Keelan has been relentless behind the wheel, emulating the same tenacity his dad has displayed for nearly three decades in NASCAR.
All the resources at your fingertips does not equal success, the talent to take those resources and understand them, then add them to your natural abilities is the key. Keelan has demonstrated he has the skills physically as well as mentally to excel at anything he does. The Harvicks have done an excellent job of preparing this young man. 👌🏼
Son I hope you understand the joy you will bring to this old man's life when you come up. I'm about to lose your father after next year from the looks of it. That breaks my heart. However knowing your out there tearing it up gives me something to look forward to for decades to come. Work hard and race harder my friend. I'll be rooting for you.
