Great tips although I take issue with the tap water thing. If you're just topping off your tank adding a pitcher of water to a 55 gallon. Honestly I don't even treat it for that small amount. I've had my tank for 10 years and have maybe lost 3 fish over that time and it wasn't from water quality it's because they are murderous little bastards lol. but great tips for sure!!!!
Holy crap. Nitrogen cycle is a myth? You can't even explain it properly, how can you even claim it's a myth? Overcleaning should go hand in hand the nitrogen cycle. But again, I don't think you understand how the whole process works. Fish are "stunted" because of the poor housing. Their internal organs grow as much as their external. They don't live a long life because of the poor diet and husbandry. Tap water. You use it, and you've said it. The statement should have been not to use untreated tap water. Again, read up on the nitrogen cycle. I don't understand how you are the aquarium police and can't even grasp that.
I appreciate the comment after you clearly didn’t watch the video and reading the chapter titles. 0/2 on your comments today. Let’s see if you can go for the hatrick. 😂
How are you the aquarium police but not going to mention that the stocking for that tank was awful? What in the hell is that stocking in the 110? Angels? Koi? Gourami? One the angels and koi require two different types of water temps and koi belong in ponds not tanks.
It’s not a Japanese Koi, I think it’s a goldfish species known as a Wakin. They are referred to Koi goldfish as major chain stores. They get 10-12 inches. Assuming the parameters are all optimized, they could technically be suited together. I have a tank with angels at 76 and they run fine.
Those are my tanks featured in the video. Yes, Koi, Angelfish, Gouramis typically do not belong in the same tank. different water perameters normally, but all o9f my fish in there are doing just fine. they all get along great. since this video was released, I also added 3 pink convict cichlids and they are all, still, just fine. The angelfish have since been moved to a new tank with a few honey gouramis, a 30 gal tall. I am also getting 2 elephant nose fish next week :)
also, my 55 gal Platy tank has Polar Blue Parrot Cichlids in it. that shouldnt work either, but it does. also have a small red frontosa in their. an African cichlid. same size as the platys, but it works
@@trozzg2160surviving ain’t thriving my dude. Just cause they’re alive now, don’t mean they’ll be in a year or two. Come back to me when these fish are closer to full grown lol
thanks for the review :) Yes, that pic of my koi looks terrible. he is definitely not a zombie fish, haha. The polar Blue's in with the platys is working out well. They may be eating some platy babies, but i still see some swimming around. i think they are too busy trying to make their own babies. I have had 3 clutches of eggs from them, but none have been fertilised and successful yet.
Also. in the 110 gal. in the 2 years or so i have had it running. i have never done a water change or gravel vac. the koi and the fatty goldfish make sure there is no food left on the bottom, and the hand made 20gal sump takes care of the rest. :)
You 100% are not the only person doing fish tank reviews of worst tanks. You’re clearly copying fish for thoughts fish tank reviews. Also ridiculous that you would try to diss BFP. He’s just trying to run a channel, meet people and collect cool fish. Florida sewers DO have these fish. Maybe next time only talk about something you have valid knowledge about.
I’m not reviewing fish tanks? Edit: would you say BFP and Robs aquatics are clone channels? They do the same thing. I guess I’ll shut my channel down since someone else is talking about fish tanks. Thanks for the heads up
You need to do some research on invasive and aquarium fish in Florida waterways. How about you don’t judge other people without any information on your part. I’d love to see your tanks.. judging by the one visible in your recording room, you have beginner level aquatic fish knowledge and husbandry. Get into the hobby a little more before you start trolling other people’s tanks.
I probably have more fish tanks than you have hot meals. Thanks for your support though 💙 Edit: and you are right I’m not winning any aquascape awards… but the fishies are thriving 😊 💪
That first video- obviously you’re not the brightest lightbulb in the box. I’m not saying he’s justified but the FISH JUMPED in the beginning… so they haven’t been sitting there forever, literally just died.
Lmao so 1 fish tried to jump out of the tank to save himself and he's dumb for saying the other fish are dead? It seems like you are not the most well grown plant in the garden
Probably shouldn’t drive your car and film your dog. Maybe throw a seatbelt harness on her too so she doesn’t fly out after you crash from distracted driving. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer
@@AquariumPolice hah you’re funny. Wasn’t driving, I was the passenger. Also, she’s wearing a car harness with seatbelt clip. <3 again, know things before you open your mouth.
@@AquariumPolice bruhhhhh i just looked at her channel that's so unsafe if she gets in a crash she's gonna see a dog fly past her head through her winshield that's crazy how some people don't care for the safety of their animals but they care enough to put a car seat protector so no fur gets on their seats
@@MermaidGunner it doesnt seem like you have anything attached to your dog ma'am, and you talking about knowing things before opening your mouth is pretty ironic
"Won" Two goldfish at the HV Fair last night. Do I keep them in the container I got last night or put them in the 20 gallon tank I bought today (water conditioner added)? Should I keep them in the container for a week or follow the directions from Aqueon and release them into their new tank within 24 hours? I want my son's fish friends (as he calls them)to survive and thrive.
Since you are kind of stuck with two new fish. A fish in cycle is possible, just a ton more monitoring and daily work until it’s cycled. You’d just have to monitor the ammonia levels daily if you were to release them into the tank. If it were to spike it may be cause stress and kill the fish. If the container is small, it is probably about the same so you could put them in. Get some filters and there is beneficial bacteria in a bottle and throw it in there, water changes daily and vacuum up their waste. Not sure what you have for substrate or plants etc. Congrats on the new wins.
If your tap water only has chlorine and not chloramine you can just leave the water in an open bottle or container for a couple of days and the chlorine will off-gas out of it and be safe for your fish. Of course, if you many or very large tanks it would still be more practical to use a water treatment.
I would love to send you pics or vids of my two main tanks to see your honest reaction to them. my 55 gal is mostly platys, about 50 or more. some are babies born here. but also have 2 hi fin white tetras, a swordtail, 2 small red frontosa chichlids, and 7 polar blue blood parrots. my 110 gal is my bigger fish tank. it has a 10 inch koi, a fat ass fancy goldfish, 2 electric blue acaras, 4 angel fish, 2 blue gouramis, and two other gouramis, that i am not sure of actual breed, oh and a jewell cichlid. all fish in both tanks are doing good and get along very well
@@AquariumPolice roast me all you want. I am not an expert. my 110 has a 20 gal sump i built from scratch and the fish are thriving. my 55 was super green with all the plants and algae but is super clean now. i am still learning. ;)
I am retired and have been in the hobby many years, I was tired of sitting in my recliner watching propaganda on TV, so I got a part time job at one of those chain pet stores as an "aquatic specialist". It is so frustrating to have people come in to return dead fish that had bought there while I was NOT working. I ask the customer questions about their set up (size, how long has it been set up ect...). My co-workers will sell them anything! It is amazing to me how many people know nothing about the nitrogen cycle. When I try to explain it to them, they look at me like a deer in the headlights. Anyway, I just needed to vent. I enjoyed you video and subscribed. I wish all of the people thinking of getting fish had to watch it. THANKS
I’ve run into a few employees that give me a “shake my head moment” but I’m glad you are setting the example. They need to have like nitrogen cycle posters or something labeled and common aquarium lists in the pet stores. Majority of people just don’t know. A lot of my knowledge has come from reading and learning while doing and I’m still learning. Thanks for joining the community 🐠
Appreciate the feedback 💙. I’m definitely not trying to be an influencer. I was just tired of seeing nonsense on the internet and I love fish keeping so I figured I’d try this RU-vid thing 😂
The idiocity of people never ceases to amaze me. Time and time again my mouth gets thrown agape at the sheer amount of neglect and ignorance from these a$$hats who use fish as a decoration, not a pet.
There was a youtube channel i watched a year ago that would go dumster diving at petco or petsmart, and they would find live fish and other live animals. So yeah, I can see it happening at other big chain pet stores.
Want a clear tank? Check your parameters.....its always a process which is ongoing in your aquarium. As long as ammonia/nitrites/are 0, and phosphates are low to 0, leave the aquarium alone.....whats causing the cloudiness will not last....when we tinker with something which is not broken, we tend to make things worse....and don't add clearing drops or anything that really shouldn't be going into the aquarium. Cloudiness is evidence of something....figure it out. Makes us better fishkeepers.
I am not a fish keeper but I must say that Beta fish have got to be the #1 most abused pets in the world. I cannot think of an animal that gets mistreated on a more frequent basis.
Other ways to combat Algae are to do with lighting1 try and position your tank away from natural light ie the sun is it hitting your tank through a window .2 Aquarium lighting . A lot of starter tanks have what i would call stadium lighting ,to much light for your requirements unless you have a planted tank keep lighting to a minimum a few hours in evening to view your fish
Add fresh chicken shit the day you put water in the tank ... boom nitrogen cycle jump started. I am in my 60's and my "tap water" was never chlorinated until the last 5 years.
Beat the cycle, use prime and Stability for the first 7 days. Test after 7 days and check to see if you're at 0/0/40. If you're not dose again for another 7 days and you'll be good to go. I've used this on numerous new tanks with zero deaths to any fish. Kaveman aquatics has a video about it
The tank I have now is my first tank, and it's still better than those . Upgrading soon for sure tho , struggling to find guppy grass. And is stealing acceptable for a suffering animal? Always
I do fish in cycle, and i won't do it any other way. Not all plecos will eat algae. You can certainly rinse your filter media in tap water. It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to kill all your beneficial bacteria. Im sorry, but this guy needs a lot more learning.
As far Bass fishing production goes, they are correct when they the have said Florida is loaded with many exotic fish. It is a problem down there. To be honest Bobby probably does actually catch those fish. Lately he has been dealing with a lot of mental health issues so try not to be too hard on him. You wouldn't want to be responsible if something bad happens to him. I know you didn't realize this.
What crap did I say? Just asked a question and if he could do a live stream. Channel is entertaining and good production. So wym Edit: and no I don’t suck, you are just rattled
I’d like to see your setup for fish, I know sure as hell he shows us ours. You are trying to pin this on him so you don’t get blamed. He is also going through a lot right now so stop being a jerk. I am not rattled you’re the insane guy
it's real sad that you have to review a video to see if Bobby is scamming people about saving fish. Real low on your part my guy. Regardless if it is a setup of how he catches them, he still keeps them and gives out good information. He helps lots of people in many different ways. You just sound like a Karen trying to get your 15 mins of fame. Find another lane.
If you watched the video you’d know it’s a concern from this community. It is pretty alarming if he is putting it in there! As I said it’s a very entertaining content. But it was brought to my attention by multiple people. You complaining about me asking for transparency is pretty Karen like. Hopefully you enjoy next weeks episode of #wtfish
It seems fake but it could be real. Florida tends to have a lot of animals where they aren’t supposed to be, similar to how in Australia you turn the corner and there’s a massive spider along with an inland taipan.
@@AquariumPolice sounds like a plan. I’m in Michigan so I’ve got black windows, brown recluses, and eastern massasauga rattle snakes but that’s about it for dangerous animal. I’d like to see some saltwater fish but I’ll stick to my bluegill and perch.
I have seen one video like that yesterday and was 100% sure it's fake. I don't how anyone believes petco and other fish stores would just throw live, bagged fish in the dumpster for them to find. In the video I watched he even found an octopus. A couple years ago there was a trend on social media where people would put tar, concrete or paint on animals an then pretend they found them outside and are cleaning them up now. Some of them were proven to have filmed the "after" first and then the "before" while pretending to wash them before letting the still tar-ed animal free to die. I do hope life gets back at those people.
About the fish at SportsClips, I think it is horrible but this is exactly what those big american petstore chains advertise beta fish as. They sell them in small cups or bags and they kinda became the new goldfish in a tiny bowl.
A lot of the betta issues are 100% about misinformation. The people at the store are super friendly and cared about the fish. They just didn’t know it was too small and that it need someone flow etc.
The dumpster thing is weird. If you were to throw out an animal… why would you bag it first? That too me is the biggest red flag. Like they’d be tossed in a in store garbage bag or something. Not bags that they use for selling. But 🤷🏽♂️
