Sorry however a lot of your data is outdated or just Plain wrong.. Cat5E or Any Cat cable is limited to 300 feet. I am sorry but 250meter is plain wrong. IEEE 802.3af and at max is 100meter or 328ish feet. Also my DVR Supports Long Distance Signal Transmission up to 2296 ft. Sure I will have to mid stream inject power. LOL Google Nest or Ring as being Big camera company only have IP lol.. I know this video is 5 years old but this data is Wrong. I have an Analog LRP I have an IP one as well. I have AI PTZ 2014 camera from Samsung that has features that even high Priced IP AI PTZ don't even offer.. I mean they might offer some. But one feature I have yet to find in an IP PTZ camera is the ability to setup a Preset in B/W and or Color don't matter time of day. I setup for B/W at preset 1 it will display Preset 1 in B/W even if mid sunny day. I can setup Color at night to a camera that don't have IR or white leds. The camera can see perfect as long as it is going to a preset area that has good amount of light. Ability to us Alarm in and outs with numbers that no IP camera offers. Also Easier to setup LOL Yeah I don't think so LOL My Analog PTZ is anything but easy to setup. Have to go into menus out of menus and into settings and make inside camera settings for RS-485 and many more things. DVR is yes easier to setup because there is 1 place 1 IP address and doing a Reset back to factory your DVR can be setup recording with Motion in place in less then 5 minutes. Analog can't have Remote LOL What CMS aka Camera Management System *Service* (VMS(Video Management Software)) 16ch DVR reset and back up in less then 30min even having to setup all PTZ channels to have the right RS-485 info if required seeing I have many cameras that use UTC format aka CVI 2.0 CVI 3.0 TVI and others. Also Audio over Coax on some of my cameras as far back as 720P PTZ and UTC. Also have 5 year plus SMD AKA AI DVR. Yeah sure I own 10 NVRs and 7 DVRs but still DVRs are much faster and have some better features where Not all IP cameras are H.265 however on my DVR All my cameras even VERY OLD 480TVL cameras are running H.265 with no issues with video..

By installing zoom camera, we cannot view the recording by zooming. What is the benefit of spending more money? We have to see the recording only.

Thanks for the vid robox academy. I've fitted a simple BNC system many years ago, so I consider myself a novice in today's CCTV world. I'm preparing to fit a system to my new home, its a bungalow in a semi rural location. I am thinking about 4 dome NVR 8MP 4K cameras. There is a Hikvision dealer just a couple of miles from me, and I like what I see from first glances at the CCTV market.. May I ask a question? Is it OK to fit a dome camera directly to a wall? If I want to look, say, down the side of my house from one end, so it would be mounted sideways? Is that OK? Or would it make the image sideways? I'm guessing I'd need the wall mounting bracket, so the camera is suspended the way it was designed to be used? Sorry to be long winded. Am I making sense?
@roboxacademy
@roboxacademy 7 месяцев назад
Hi there- it's perfectly fine to fit the dome on a wall as long as it's a turret dome (we did this in the video above, the 3rd camera) or if it's a vandal style make sure it has 3 axis - this ensures the image is straight. You can have a watch of our video "different types of CCTV cameras" that will explain this in more detail. Best of luck.

How did you power both camera's with the one cable, one or 2 pairs into a balun at each camera? And a poe plug with an rj45 end made indoors? Nice video 🙌🏻
@roboxacademy
@roboxacademy 7 месяцев назад
Great comment - no baluns. The CAT5e cable was connected to a DC connector into the camera's power connector. 4 pairs means one pair for - and one pair for + for each power connector. (No POE or RJ45 was used). Indoors- the cable went to a 12V 5amp Power Supply (left it ontop of the kitchen cabinet). The 12V 5amp is enough to power both cameras - The cameras only need 1amp but the extra ampage allows for loss due to extended cable distance) I will do a dedicated video to power supplies one day. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

I have to say, guys, you must be wary of constantly topping up the central heating. The reason is that you will dilute the inhibitor in the system, leaving inadequate protection from corrosion. It's really important due to the fact that water contains electrolytes and this causes electrolytic corrosion; depaending where different metals are on tge electromotive scale, superior metals will eat inferior ones, in this case the copper tube & brass in the valves, will eat the iron in the radiators and the heat exchanger in the boiler. Ultimately, you could end up needing to replace both the boiler and all of the radiators. Certainly, the system will fill up with magnetite, black sludge, caused by corrosion, which will slow down the time it takes to heat up and how much heat it gives out. It's bad. Using leak sealer usually works. I found this video as I was just looking for anyone who had used for a heat exchanger. The boiler is due to be replaced in the spring, so I'm just keeping it going over the winter for a customer. Anyway, the poster of this video didn't update, so I guess no news is good news?!? P.s. I am a plumber. I'm not keen on using leak sealer, and I think of it only as a temporary fix. Always best to find the leak, drain down, fix it properly. Leak sealer is guaranteed for 1 year which is good enough for what I'm doing. Hopefully 😊

Please, does increase in IP rating (e.g IP68) determine the protective nature of the camera from water? Thank you sir

Thank you very much for this great and comprehensive teaching. I haven't mounted any camera before but, I have strong passion and burning desire to be an installer. Please I want to ask, is it advisable to use an iron box (knockout box) and PVC pipe at the position of the camera and run the pipe inside a wall straight to where NVR and router would be located? What are the advantages and disadvantages ? Thank you!

I shopped online for weeks looking at the various systems I knew I didnt need more than 4 cameras around the outside of my home but night vision was a concern as its a rural area and sound is important to me I initially purchased an Annke four camera system from amazon with an ssd drive inside it but it wasnt very clear in the advert that it had no sound so I returned it imeadiately and upgraded to an 8 camera annalogue system with four bullet cameras that change to colour night vision when the cameras detect human and vechicle movement it also has very good sound and it was only £11 extra to cover it from accidential , vandal damage or failure for 3 years. it also has a privacy curtain so that you can block out your neighbours gardens or property from the view of the cameras, I approached all my neighbours and said Im putting up cctv do you want it to overlook your property or not? and then blocked the areas that they didnt want covered and showed them the images to set their minds at rest. the system I purchased on Amazon.co.uk is the ANNKE 8 channel 3k night colour vision and sound system with four bullet cameras that have lights when triggered at night to aid illumination for colour vision. it was £129.99 as off 18/08/2023, the support is amazing from the Annke staff who answer your questions promptly in setting up the dvr settings if you need it, dont go to their website just use the link on amazon its quicker to get a response usually the next morning. overall I am very happy with my new cctv system, which although annalogue it will support 2 IP cameras and plug into the internet to monitor the cameras by mobile phone, the 1 terabyte hard drive will record 4 cameras in the H264 compressed format for 80 days continuosly before overwriting the drive. the video quality can display up to 1080p for yout tv set through an HDMi lead, the dvr comes with a usb mouse for setting the dvr up 2 usbs 1 hdmi, 1 Gigabyte lan socket 2 x 12 volt power supplys, 1 RGB ouput for computers or older lcd tv sets and 2 x phono output audio sockets, sound is sent down the BNC connectors from the cameras so these are not really needed unless you would like to add an extra microphone but the sound quality from the HDMI output is so good I havent bothered. Ive only had the system up and running a couple of weeks so far but im pretty sure its not using much power at all and it is totally silent definately less than 50 pence a week to run. I have made some little sideless and frontless bird boxes to mount the cameras in to protect them from rain the little roofs protrude about 2 inches beyond the front of the cameras and this keeps the rain off them, The night images are amazing in black and white and colour and we have been watching the bats flying around in front of one camera recently . all good fun once they are installed.

I can extract number plate info on my Annke Analogue DVR system, mine has a alarm trigger menu so I can locate files easily when something triggers the cameras, it is easy to edit the file size so I can also copy these files to a usb stick if needed to hand to the police, the dvr still plugs in to the internet for viewing online or cloud storage, analogue is usualy better in weak internet signal areas as it provides a better quality image 24/7 in 1080p. Most analogue systems support at least two IP cameras and 6 analogue cameras they also come with colour cameras remote 360 degree cameras and wired cameras. The night vision is amazing quality in colour. they have human and vechicle detection settings and sensativity adjustment to, most of which is ample for most households. its not true that you cannot extract the data from the video files on an annalogue recording in fact it simplifies things by compressing each image file so that it can be coppied to a usb stick in seconds. its is worth noting that coaxial and power also carries sound to. The analogue systems support both analogue and IP cameras where as the IP systems only support IP cameras so you have access to almost any type of cctv camera you wish to use on your system often making it cheaper to replace or upgrade your cameras when you need to. Ip cameras also overload your internet download bandwith sometimes slowing it down to a crawl particularly when a loit of people are trying to stream video or play games and many youtubers warn of this happening Annalogue systems wont do this if you record 24/7 and dont connect the dvr to the internet, who wants to be on their phone all day checking in on the house? let the dvr take the strain and stop worying its all being recorded. unless you have pets you want to check up on with internbal cameras its just another waste of time and another level of stress to worry about, better to leave the dvr to record knowing if anything happens its going to be covered by your cctv system.

So far I only have one of the 5 up. ru-vid.comUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe My son ran out of time, with motion detector etc. I have it over my garage door. It works great. Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.

Some thoughts from a consumer who has been using CCTV cameras for years for home surveillance. When choosing a camera, focus on night vision first and foremost. Good night vision is key, as night time is when all the crime happens (I've provided footage to police on multiple occasions, and it's always night time recordings). There are a few cameras that now offer pretty good color night vision, but find reviews, as some are great, and some others that advertise color night vision are still pretty crappy. If using IR with B/W night vision and if you don't have fancy human/vehicle recognition, it helps to mount a separate IR illuminator and turn the cameras built-in IR off. This reduces fogginess in the picture and, more importantly, greatly reduces false positives from bugs flying around the IR light (as now your IR light is not in the same place as the camera). If you want to capture license plates...well...it's hard to do; you need specialized cameras (in particular you need control over shutter speed so you can set a high enough shutter speed at night to eliminate blur); you may also need additional IR illumination to get good captures, and it's really hard to find IR spot lights (I had to get some from a company that sells them for mounting on trucks for night hunting and them adapt them to use wall power); and you ideally want 2 cameras for each street/road you want to monitor, one facing each way, as often a vehicle only has a plate on one side.
