Would have depended on what trails you were looking for, but Whiskey, Crown Point, SMD + Awesome, Cherry Poppins, or the The Flume are always great options. The Dewdney is another good one! What did you end up riding?
@@TrueRouteResearch It was too hot on Sunday so I stayed home. I'll probably be there next Sunday. I like it steep and nasty and want some of that classic BC skinny stuff thrown in for the true BC experience
Fair enough! If you like steep then Dreadhead, The Flume, and Cherry Poppins are the best on offer in Rossland. Dreadhead is pretty steep and pretty rutted out because of it, but is a good brake burner. The Flume is one of my favourites and as you saw in the video has some steep stuff, but also some janky wood features. Cherry Poppins has some good steep sections and a a couple wood features, but they are mostly drops. Where are you coming from?
The vibes in Rossland are sure getting better with all the Condos going up at Red Village. Towns been a Hellbent Karenzilla town for far too Long. Nice too see Smiles instead of Frowns and Smirks.

Rode this area yesterday. Wonderful trails and riding Hooch along the creek is really nice. The folks who are putting in the trails in Salmo area and Ymir have done some great work. Wish the U.S. border stayed open longer than 4 pm. Would have enjoyed another lap. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to getting back north soon.

Hi, I used my GoPro Hero 8 with no digital stabilization on and a chest mounted gimbal. The gimbal is the key for night time riding. You can use hypersmooth digital stabilization with the gimbal, but it does impact the cropping of the video.

Hi, cool video. Just an audio tip, put on a high pass filter to kill a lot of bass (especially in the left side of the audio). A little difficult to listen too with headphones. cut everything around 200hz and below. Could do it in post but also i imagine your mic has this setting. Cant wait to run this trail in cumby!. best.

TBH hear me out they should have picked a better name like the transpire instead of transition spire.. The problem this Transition name sounds like your supporting the trans community now that you know this the name won’t hit the same
@@TrueRouteResearch well I was. Then I broke a couple ribs riding and I’m looking at 2 surgeries. Torn rotator cuff and torn labrum in my hip. May need a hip replacement. 😆
Riding the 2022 Transition Sentinel. I picked it up in July of last year and I have been loving it. It's very capable at 150 mm rear travel, but still pedals very well! Are you still on the Commencal?
Yo Chewelah has been putting in new trails. Balsamroot bomber has big flowy burms. If you're in the area you should check it out. The jumps are small. The rock ledge to start the trail is fun.

Sweet bike! Which model of Rocky Mountain were you on previously? I'm currently riding a 2016 Rocky Altitude and am hoping to get myself a Transition this year. Initially was looking at the Patrol but am now thinking Sentinel is the way to go, seems more versatile. I like riding steep and deep stuff but also climb a lot and pedal on XC trails so would like something poppy and nimble, not just a monster truck.

I made some changes to it like adding the Fox Float X2 to the rear and bumping up the front travel to 170 mm. I enjoyed the bike a lot, as it helped me progress a lot. I have been very impressed and happy with my Transition Sentinel. I was kind of jumping back and forth between the Spire and Sentinel, but ultimately I ride very similar terrain to you, so I wanted the bike to still pedal well. The Sentinel is extremely capable and has not backed down from anything I have thrown at it on the descents. I can't personally speak for a Patrol because I haven't ridden one, but for me I just didn't want the hassle of a mullet (different size wheels, tires and tubes). Thanks for checking out the video! How did you like it? I had a Rocky Mountain Instinct BC Edition before and I was running it at 170/155 and the Sentinel feels like it has more travel. I have been really happy with it. The clicking/popping is possibly from chainslap. It doesn't have the best protection on the chainstay or seatstay. I don't really notice when I am riding though!
@@TrueRouteResearch So the bike I rode was setup for someone that is ~50-60lbs lighter than me. It was the shop manager's bike and on a coil so not easy to just toss air in. He had a new bike in stock but not enough room to build it up. Honestly it felt terrible BUT the bike was folded in half the whole time. That being said I ordered a '22 Carbon GX from a shop in Utah. Because it was a leftover and Transition just started their current sale, they hooked me up. Will be here this Wed. I will toss on Ride Wrap and be able to test back-to-back with my '21 Stumpjumper Evo.
It was definitely a lot of fun! If you drive through often it is definitely worth a stop. There are a lot of trails in a concentrated area! Thanks for watching and commenting!

One of my favourite. Rossland is dreamy Fatbiking. I can remember getting a Fatbike 6 years ago and so many scratching heads about it. Now it’s a Good size Crowd of Us at it and Just a Blast.

Done Rossland a few years back. Liked it but just did the 7 Summits. Need to explore the more in town rides. Went right by all these rides you have done. Def on my list.
