@@DadLeisureSkateboarding 🙏🏼 Thanks, they were fun, can't wait to come out of one now. Ben Degros YT has a good tutorial I found after the fact, looks like it will help.
Dude you so got those, I think you just need to lock down that parking block somehow I think its cool you have that man I would use that in my garage I have to find something like that anyway man great attempts just don't lean to far back and if you get rails they help. Very SICK though great to see you giving it a go!
@@VintageSk8 Yeah man, I'm starting to feel that slide. Hopefully I can start hopping out of it. Thanks for the tips before, I tried not to lean back but I have to get the feel for it a little more. Fun 🛹☠️😉
@@ChongcoSk88 Yeah I am always looking for curbs I found that good free standing curbs can be found in park and school parking lots. I found this one down the street from my house but at 103 today and over a 100 for the rest of the week it’s going to have to wait! Sick sesh though huge props man you’re killing it!
Nice vid man! I’m enjoying No Comply’s at the moment as my flip trick days seem to be well behind me 🤣 I find that less is more with scooping the tail as you step off, If I put too much into the scoop the boards way ahead and Ive no chance off hopping back on.. Rad work dude ✌🏻
You mostly got the motion for kickflips. Just need more practice to get it to spin One thing is you’re putting your back foot down really fast. It’s a commitment thing. Maybe try some practice on something softer to practice your technique and not worrying about falling too much. I have a few videos of me practicing in rubber “wood” chips. I still primo and fall, but at least it’s chips and not concrete/ asphalt
Thanks. The way my ollies look rolling doesn't look like I could make it, but I think an obstacle helps push me further. Hopefully it will come soon. 🙏🏼🛹
@@ChongcoSk88 I struggled with Ollie’s until I figured out how to do them up curbs. Then my skills kind of exploded after getting that. It’s an important step. You’re almost there!
Looking good and don't worry about the speed take your time move at your own pace its not worth injuring yourself further. But yeah you are looking good on the board nice ollies.
@@ChongcoSk88 I like the idea of Olling up a curb into the grass I will have to try that, you landed a regular one too I don't think I am ready for that yet. Oh and you have all the other pads you should look into FPS socks your bare ankles freak me out man!! You fricken full send to mad props!!!
see this all the time. experienced it myself. even if you have to break the moving ollie up into parts and then combine the steps all together later so be it. the focus right off the bat should be to get that nice solid tail pop. even if you have to pop the tail only and let the board fly ahead of you go for it. when you focus to much on the jumping, sliding your foot up too early or whatever it just doesnt work. get that solid tail pop down first every time and then you can add the rest with it.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I'm still struggling with ollies. Ghost pop, not consistant... I definately feel I'm not popping enough so I'll keep this in mind.
Thanks, I definately beat myself up these sessions. Glad I had the pads, a lot of my sessions would end early without them. Now I need to stop pulling muscles and twisting joints. 😉
Still working on fs. I think it was Dan Webz video that helped me, and trying them next to and landing in grass first was a confidence booster. I do it in my "landing first shuv" video
yheaaa bro! just remember a thing! you must focus on movments going up! you dont need to press down the tail ! you just need to put the foot on the tail! if your front leg go up the tail automatically snap on the ground whitout need to press down! if you do that you start to feel more ligth ! try to focus on front leg going up and catcing the grip ! if you do the mecnism correct the foot on the tail just follow the physics going up after snap the tail.....but snap the the tail is a consequence of your front leg going up youMUST REMEMBER to not pres down the tail .....mind set going up! never down! press down just for pressure flips!
Thanks for the advice. I guess its obvious that Im still working things out in my head. I'll keep that in mind my next few sessions. Ollies look simple until you break them down, then theres a lot of techniques like that you need to put together in the right time.
Ain't gonna lie I gotta good laugh outta this...but only because I just started back skating at age 47 and we look just the same on the board lol...my reflexes are slow I'm so stiff and dangit I don't remember the concrete being so freakin hard! But I'm so glad I got back to skating. Much love and respect to you homie from southwest GA 🤘💪
Yeah, the pads saved from some scrapes and stuff, but theres nothing to protect my joints. So glad I got back too. Been great mentally and aside frome injury, its been healthy for me too. Have fun, stay safe
They're fine. I rolled most of those falls out and the pads helped. Just from the ollies/attemps? They feel great today. But yeah, they aint what they used to be. Glucosamine, stretching and assisted squats is how I've been trying to manage them.
Thanks, I've been watching different tutorials and taking from each what I can. They are not as straight as I would like and I'm still messing around with my front foot position, but we'll get there.
I used to skate, but was never any good. I think tic tacs and a little balance is all I took from skating back in the day. And a few drop ins on a plywood mini ramp.
You can only ollie as high as you can jump...work those muscles when you're not sk8ing. 47 yr old sk8 bum here, you got this easily, persistence is everything. NEVER stop skateboarding. Cheers 🤘
keep it up brutha, ollie’s look solid. for the kickflip, really focus on just flicking your foot with your ankle rather than kicking your whole leg out 👍
@@ChongcoSk88 oh yeah, ive been skating for almost 20 years and stopped doing tricks for like 5 and am just getting back into it and thats one mental note i keep telling myself is to rotate and flick my ankles and not kick my leg 😆
Great to see someone else using bones hardcore bushings with indies. Indie orange bushings have always been notoriously rubbish, like they're made of toffee, but with bones bushings, they skate Great. 👍👍👍❤️🙂🙂
