How can you call God a "narcissist" when He is the origin of all life and the universe itself - the almighty supreme force without which nothing else would ever have existed! You have a very narrow, foolish mind, and if you had a conscience you would know that it is RIGHT for God to bring the lives of evil people to an end.

I'm sorry but the video is misleading. The Bible doesn't say that man was created to enjoy God, the Bible says that the human race are the offspring of Adam, and is therefore cut off from God because of sin. Men have NO connection to God, except through the Son of God, Jesus. If anyone believes and follows the Son of God, Jesus, then we CAN enjoy God. Otherwise, God's wrath remains upon us.

What....you mean a cult that gives you total choice, has no rules and asks nothing of you and stands to benefit nothing from your involvement. What possible motive do you think this "cult" is driven by? To understand a cult you need to understand it's leader ie the one who designed you, the world and everything in it. We make our own choices, Maurice, that is everyone's great privilege. God has given us an example of all those attributes, love, gentleness, kindness. Jesus was the living embodiment of these things. You can either accept that He is -( that's after some discussion of course - you may not know much about Him. Many people don't these days). Or you might just not be interested in finding out more. The 'eternal torture' that you talk about is what a person has chosen for themselves. It says in the Bible that 'God is Love', and we can either choose to be with Love (God) for eternity - or not! Yes, as you say, it is made very clear in the Bible that if we choose not to be with God, it will be horrific 'eternal torture'. God did not want to leave us in any doubt. Because without God we would be in a place without Love. It would seem that if we really don't want to be with God (Love) while we are alive, we will not change our minds when we are dead. That is one thing that I believe the Bible makes very clear, we make our choice here on earth. And it is not wise to wonder about other people's choices. We will have many surprises about which people are in Heaven with God. It is a choice of the spirit of each individual, and God knows our true spirits. Dying, if you find you still exist, is the most obvious mind changer going, because you find out which religion was right, and that any was. When several rival religions make the same threat, the writings of no one of them can make clear on Earth which is right. For choosing Jesus you will get sent to hell for not choosing Mohammed, and vice versa, by an all-powerful being who by definition must be capable of telling you right now, with his own physical voice, who is right, and of physically protecting you from any harm from hearing his voice. It is not in fact made very clear in the Bible at all, as ever since it was completed, its literalist believers have been divided, some believing in torture, some in obliteration of the judged. Both camps have some bits of Bible clearly on their side, so neither has ever defeated the other. It's one of the Bible's contradictions. Neither have the book of Ecclesiastes on their side, whose writer just believed in no afterlife.. Hi, Maurice - do read my last post again. As the Bible says, God is Love - He has given us our spirits ,and he knows all about us, things that no-one else knows. Thats why I say that it is not wise at all to look at other people, and come to any conclusions whatsoever, (within certain limits) as to who we will meet in heaven. We don't know who, after a life of hating others, will have changed their minds even in their last seconds of life. And I don't believe that it is completely dependent on just the words 'accepting Jesus'. I'm sure that many people who have said that they have 'accepted Jesus' down the years, have definitely not, they have not actually wanted God in their lives. And, what about those who have never heard of Him? And those who are of another religion, and hear a very biased report of Him? But they live lives with all the love that Jesus showed to mankind while on earth. That situation is 'covered' in the Bible - Romans 2- "15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them" . This is why we should not judge other people's relationship with God. It is not our business. Our responsibility is our own relationship with our Creator. What God wants is people with Love. He has sent Jesus so that we can have complete friendship with God while we are on this earth, because that is why God has made us - to be his friends, his children, his family.
