Thank you for sharing. I've never been to a pow wow. Love the language and have had a desire to learn Even tho not there live I have truly enjoyed watching May God continue to bless you and yours❤😊
35:45 Hear those people talking & laughing in the background, while the MC is reading names of veterans to honor? That's what you DON'T do at a pow-wow!
It was great to see Lakotah horse dancers. But this is why I have the username. My son lives with his dad. I gave him the middle name ‘Lakotah’ so he will not forget he has Native Blood. Was I wrong for that? Was I wrong for giving him a name after a tribe?
with all due respect a late elder mentioned in here offended my cousin 10 yrs ago who is 2 spirit at this pow wow just cause her grand daughter was being beat in compition by him. This brought questionable issues on the committe and 2 spirit dancers. there was a boycott too several years back on this pow wow which was a black lash on their new rules at the time was discriminating.. I hope things will get better for them moving forward we all need to feel a belonging within the circle.
My vote goes to the lady that's pushing a walker, she wants to dance while she can still stand that love for tradition and the people her history ❤ she has my vote for just being their even though she is clearly struggling ❤
