This was my first Counting Crows concert and was blessed that around 49:45 he honored my yelled out request for Raining In Baltimore, didn't blow off the song and put down his beloved lollipop and played that wonderful song he shared love for more. Bless you Adam Duritz 🙏 You gave me this magical memory. ♥
I was at this show. I had just turned 19, and was supposed to meet two friends there. They never showed (long story). So I watched this show with two empty seats on either side of me, and had an absolutely transformative experience. In my snarky teen years, I had been a little "too cool" for Counting Crows. But, my friend pushed me to go because she was sure I would love it. She was right. (although, she missed the show!) When the lights came up, I was wiping away the tears... and honestly, nothing has ever been the same. Part of me doesn't even want to watch this, for fear that it lives better in my memory. What a magical night.
I, luckily was able to see these guys in 1994 and 97 in Atlanta. Some of my favorite memories, if someone can memorialize the soundtrack of depression. These guys really carried me through dark times. Ty for posting this
I could never be SOO comfortable with myself to wear jogging pants out to the grocery store let alone on stage in front of a big audience. I love Adam for that.
Matt (Bass player) was in our band for about a month in SF in 1990. I was falling asleep a couple of years later in front of the TV and Mr jones started playing on I think was David Letterman and I had no idea that Counting crows was these guys. We opened many times for a band that Adam was singing in called sordid humor. Adam always stood in the middle of the floor and listened to every single note we played. I always knew he’d go places. I was told that I was hanging out with him but I don’t remember because I was probably drunk.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception in the same venue. I wanted to play something upbeat to get everyone out on the front steps for a group picture while we flipped the room to reception mode. I chose Accidentally in Love. It was perfect--the lyrics are so wedding appropriate, it made everyone smile and laugh as they filed out, it elevated the mood from "somber wedding vows" to "let's party." That was October 2007 and I still love this song.
Crazy this is a bootleg from 2007 and it's this pristine. These guys sounded so good. Saw the new line up last year and it was amazing too. Definitely a different sound but outstanding nevertheless. One of my favorite things about Ryan as an artist is how he revisits and reinterprets his music.
