It’s a complex issue. Not all pro or college players are apart of the grander game of fixed games and outcomes. At the end of the day, the sports entertainment industry is a for profit business, add in Las Vegas, there is a lot of money on the line. So logically from a business sense, it only makes sense for these big mega companies to ultimately control the important outcomes. Not everyone is apart of it, and some really don’t know what’s going on. But too much money to leave pro sports up to chance.

Kaepernick was a great talent and at least good enough to be a backup. Why the heck are sports even playing the national anthem at sporting events. Go to other countries and it's not done. Half the people going to an NFL game have been tailgating and drinking. Is this what we play our national anthem for? It is a false test to begin with. "Patriotism" has many faces and after WWI many people were anti-patriotism for all countries because it was seen as a senseless dog-headed way of thinking that led us to war. Kaepernick's "protest" was so mild. People kneel in church as a sign of respect and devotion. He didn't turn his back on the flag or refuse to come out. It was simply speech about an issue that so many American's, Black and White, felt was an ongoing injustice. NFL teams certainly would have hired him at his skill level. Cowards. They should have said that they were hiring him for his QB ability and I'd agree with that if he were Black or White or left or right.
MoneyBall can help round out a roster to help your core but you can't build a team with it. This team only had 7 guys that were Allstars within 3 years of this, the MVP, Cy Young, 2 SIlver Sluggers etc. Hypothetical numbers could possibly help, but it can't replace talent. Good players are always better than Hypotheticals.

I was born in the 80s near Sacramento and grew up first watching basketball after the 92 DreamTeam. I loved the sport. Loved my Kings, even though they didn't really do much. In the late 90s, we started to get hope. When they traded White Chocolate, I was torn. He was amazing to watch but Bibby was just a more mature producer and leader. Going 6 from game 5 we all still had confidence. Horry made that shot but it was a fluke on a poor decision. After that series I quit watching the NBA. It was the first finals series i hadn't seen since '93. I'm still salty 20 years later
Analytics has destroyed baseball as entertainment. What works for building rosters is terrible for managing games. Today’s game is the absolute worst product the game has ever seen. There is no heart. No risk so therefor no drama or truly heroic finishes. Just sterile, emotionless game pieces moved around by the results of an algorithm.

Stupid video.... the film was not made to mirror the Milan team, hence the different names and towns. It was LOOSLEY BASED on the Milan story, so nothing in the movie is a lie.
