I started this RU-vid channel to review all kinds of tech from a variety of areas and share the things that I love most about different tech devices with the world. In my videos I cover everything from folding phones to smart homes, gaming tech (go Steam Deck!) to e-readers (Kindle Oasis for the win!), new applications and platform software, video games, and more!

Great video! I just switched over to iPhone and am diving into HomeKit soon. Been doing a lot of research on how it all works. Currently I’m using google home and using hue as well. I’m going to try govee through a diy rasperberry pi hub on hoobs to connect them to HomeKit. If hue offered permanent holiday outdoor lights I would stick with hue for sure. Been waiting for years but no sign of this happening. We will see what happens I guess lol
i see this as a portable display replacement and not much else. i honestly don't really need them to display anything other than a normal monitor would display if it was plugged into whatever device i am plugging this into. VR is different beast. so is "just buy this normal device that can play movies". the fov is about what your average person would want if they were looking at a 1080p screen. except u don't have to hold a phone or look down to look at a tablet/laptop.
I think this guy's biggest problem is buying Apple garbage. If this was Windows or Android (ACTUAL open software and hardware), he'd have a better experience.
Great video, but a point of clarification for those that are absolutely new to HomeKit. The video gave the impression that a HomePod, HomePod Mini or AppleTV were nice to have options. At least one of these devices is required to act as the Home Hub... HomeKit will not work without one. Also, check out the Tailwind garage door device. This is my solution and it integrates pretty seamlessly into HomeKit.
Buyer beware? At this price range?? God love you but why do all Americans complain about the price of stuff they get a hell of a lot cheaper than every one else in the world? Why aren't you using a dedicated VR for gaming with actual VR games? These are more towards a wearable smart TV that you can game with..And Nintendo have always been s*itty when trying to attach 3rd party equipment.. Nintendo will release their own version, same as Sony.. And you don't seem to find the over inflated price of iPhone a problem do you?..
How big is the difference in screen size? I have Xreal Air 1 and Beam Pro but I'm tempted to try this one out for the increased clarity and sound, plus I only use my Beam Pro on shows so the Pocket TV will work just fine.
Thanks for this video! My steam deck is arriving soon and thinking of upgrading it to 2TB and will definitely be referring to this. If the SSD installed is fresh and blank, do I just follow the steam deck OS imaging instructions straightaway? Was thinking of booting it just to make sure it turns back on but concerned there might be issues if I power it up without the image ready. Thank you!
I just bought these during the Amazon Prime day sale and have sent them back. I am shortsighted and these were my first pair of XR glasses. I chose these because of the built in dials to adjust for short sightedness. The problem is, the virtual screens would be sharp but all surrounding "see through" areas would be blurred due to my short sightedness. At no fault of the device, it doesn't work for me as I am unable to see my physical keyboard clearly nor my laptop screen (for extended virtual screen workspace). Having said that, Skywalker app for MacOS is pretty cool, allowing 3 side by side screens in different layouts.
I’ve now done this 3 times with my steam deck, (long story) but it’s been simple each time and I don’t bother undoing the ribbon cable, it’s flexible and pretty tough long as you’re not pulling it about. People disconnecting the battery and disconnecting the ribbon cable are making it unnecessarily difficult. Great guide tho this is the one I used first time round.
Yeah I used my steam deck 1 time before I ordered a battery bank and chose to mainly game while plugged in... I can replaces the battery, ssd or joysticks when needed anyways. And this things begging for its life being used by a console gamer... I love it! Lasts between 2-3 hours no matter what! Or you can browse the internets for 8-9 hours... the amount of customization in buttons is just not even human.... my ps5s cowering My switch is safe, it's smaller and has 98 games on it, my mom loves it when we go away for work
Yeah I feel that for sure! We still use our Switch when we want to play Mario Party or any of the new Nintendo-specific games (can't wait for Mario and Luigi Brothership, that game looks so fun!) but my steam deck has definitely become my main gaming console now. I still use my PS5 because I got a PlayStation Portal and that let's me game around the house pretty easily like my steam deck, but I definitely prefer to use my steam deck most of the time. if your just swapping out the ssd for a new one do you still need to use the Steam Deck Recovery ie downloading steam deck Image or not as i’m really not sure or can you just put the new ssd in and power on all is good?
Great question, yes you'll need to image the new SSD on a separate device before installing it in the Steam Deck. There should be more specific info in one of the links in the description if you want to check that out too!
This was just an awful review, it seems as if you were unaware of the actual product you’re reviewing and how it works. And spent more time focusing on accessories that you felt like you needed to own to use it. It’s XR product Not a VR headset. Microsoft and Sony make their own dedicated software for game streaming. Also be aware that android os could be plagued with malware so never put sensitive information in it unless you truly trust the product
You can, but it's a bit weird. First, I believe you can only use it with other devices if you're an active backbone one subscriber, and second, you have to plug a usb-c to usb-c cable from the charging port on the controller into the iPad or Mac you want to control. So it does work, but it has to be a wired connection and then I believe you have to be a subscriber to use this feature. My recommendation, if you'll be gaming on an iPad a lot, get a PS5 controller instead. It's the only controller Apple will sell now in their stores and it's much more universally compatible than an Xbox controller is for anything that is not a Windows device. When I game on my MacBook or Steam Deck or anything, I always use a PS5 controller because I've had the best experiences with that vs Xbox controllers or Switch Pro controllers.
Do you get a creeking noise from the right after putting everything back together? I think I might have warped the shell or maybe the triggers or springs when using the tool to pry it open. It’s closed tightly but still creeks a bit. Anybody experiencing this?
I'm sorry to hear that, maybe there's something putting pressure on the case inside and causing it to creak? I haven't experienced any issues like that and I've opened mine up twice now, so maybe try determining exactly where the creaking is and open it up and see if you can see anything out of place inside compared to screenshots online or my video? Just an idea, good luck to you though, hopefully you figure it out!
I bought these on sale as a complementary thing to my Quest. To watch content or play games from time to time on something less bulky. My biggest complaint is the Viture iphone adapter is not adjustable. I bought a third party Apple adapter that does not fit. For instance the outside width on the Viture adapter connectors is 1.125". The Chinese Apple adapter is 1.225". So I'm going to have to mod it somehow without damaging it or buy the official Apple part. Though it works without the charge plug in it for right now.
I think it should, the d-brand skin won't do a ton for durability, if you drop it it'll more than likely still shatter depending on the angle and height it's dropped from, but it'll prevent a ton of scratches and marks which would still be worth it if you want to use the phone without a case. Hopefully you found a good solution that works for you!

Yeah they were! And I didn't know that but I'm not totally surprised, that's a bummer. I also completed my collection of all 13 of the Megaman NT Warrior manga books sometime last year, and even was able to get Volume 1 of the NT Warrior tv show on disk too, so really happy about that! Thanks for taking the time to comment and chat about it though, great to meet another Megaman fan!

I did that and it still powered on when opening it up I freaked out. And did put it in power save mode again. It's weird how its able to turn on by pressing the button again. Luckily I was able to swap to a 2tb and finished everything, but man that was stressful and scary was sweating bullets. Thank you for the video
for the iphone adapter is it a must to get theirs? like can i just get an adaptor cable just for connecting? no need charge and connect at the same time
Why are you reviewing their older product? They took feedback and now have a pro version and a light version. The things you complain about have been corrected in the pro version. It’s fantastic! And with my Meta Quest three… I had to buy a new head strap 100 bucks… I had to buy a new battery pack… I had to buy a new soft face cover so there are a lot of expenses with that as well. And I hate having to put it on. I love the pro glasses.
Thank you for the honest review, none of the other reviews I could find ever mentioned how these conpared to just plain good laptop screens which it seems they're worse than. The apple issues though just seems like the tax you pay for buying apple 😅
Good review, I've seen a lot of them recently but none that really went into the downsides. I'd be interested to see your take on the new ones. The pros.
