I don't think Christina Aguilera was a big influence for Angie. Ella and other stellar singers from the 50s and 60s. Watch the original Screamin Jay Hawkins to hear what Angie was shooting for.
The first clip was taken by a fan attending Jackie's concert, not of a high quality. Why not use the video from Jackie's PBS Great Performances Special filmed just 4 days after Jackie's 11th Birthday? The second was also recorded by a fan at a out door venue. Both are beautiful but neither captures the total, true quality of Jackie's voice or performance. Thanks for your support of Jackie.
I'm "Lost" for words ... because it's so beautiful.... listening to this I could hug everyone on this planet. Been listening to Anouk for at least 15 years. Love her to bits
It seems to me about time to do another Karolina video. One of her spectacular street performances from Naples Italy or one of her most recent classical performances will do nicely. Here is a classical performance made just for you and me and all of us. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cc-JQbrOu0c.html
As good as Karolina was then, today she is even more astonishing. Practice and study. One of the best videos I have ever seen is Karolina practicing with Ray Chen in preparation for her first soloist performance with the Nova LA Orchestra. If anyone thinks this is easy for her, think again. Her intensity, work ethic and intelligence are incredible. There are only a few people like her and Ray Chen who pass your way in a lifetime. Here's the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qDbT3gFVODg.html
Ahhh, teenage Jackie. No wonder this was just beautiful & flawless. Around age 20 she decided to change things. Her breath control & phrasing became random, sounding disconnected from the songs & was awkward. I recall her saying in an interview as a child, the way they had her her singing was very difficult. However, they were right.
But you do not hear any of the lyrics she sings. It is just a scramble of notes-beautiful, indeed, but not coherent. I much prefer Sarah Brightman if one desires the 'light operatic' feeling while still maintaining some resemblance to the actual lyrics.
