Trail Dog Adventures is about trips my dog and I do in our Jeep Wrangler. My original dog in the early videos is Moe. Sadly he passed in June of 2020 at 14.5 years old. A few days later I adopted Toby when he was about 9 months old. He's a handful but is a good boy. Toby is definitely a 2nd generation Trail Dog.
We are based out of Las Vegas, NV so you will see mostly trips in the region. Our content will be mostly Jeep trail riding/ hiking and visiting ghost towns, mining areas & anything else that we happen to stumble across. We also do an occasional product review. I hope you enjoy our content & support our channel.

He's almost 5. Repetition is his comfort so his unusual calmness this weekend let me open the door. I found myself to be surprised how well he handled the off-leash for multiple days. He acted like nothing was different.
The Warner Camp was the Labbe Camp before Judy bought it back in the 60s. When I built my house I named the road Butch Cassidy Pass and gave my place number 3. Filed it with the county and it's a Legit address. Let me know if you ever get by my old place and take a few pics. Thanks.@@traildogadventures6512
I gave my place to my ex back in 2005, but I did curse the place before I left. I think she rents it out now. I now live in Senoia Ga., home of the Walking Dead. @@traildogadventures6512
That's not Diebert Spring. It's Diebert's old place at "Quichip Spring". "Quichip" means "Shit" if you ask a Paiute. I thought Delbert spelled his name Deibert.... I met his nephew about a week after I found Delbert in a wash headed up to the Johnny Mine. Probably trying to make it to Charlie and Novella's place at the Crown Point Globe mine.. Died of exposure.
Those petroglyphs are at the N. base of Mt. Shader. My house is on the S. side. National Geographic did a story on them years ago. Too bad that some people added their own tags to the glyphs.
The real glyphs and the oldest are buried close by, they were covered after it was evident that people were defacing some of them and adding their own. The oldest glyphs have black "sun varnish" on them. Relic hunters have even brought out backhoes and dug the wash looking for artifacts, gold, treasure, etc., some even looked for Butch Cassidy's grave. The Paiutes said the markings were there when they came to the valley of Pahrump, "water rock". Because the water comes out of the rock dikes of the Grapevine Mtn. range. Twelve years I studied everything I could find on the Johnnie Mine and Pahrump Valley. I worked the high grade veins, left by the miners, for the owners, Overfield, and Bunker.@@traildogadventures6512
The two guys the cabin is now named after didn't originally build the cabin. The cabin's original name is for the area it is located in. They found the ruins of the cabin in the late 70s while exploring. They filed a mining claim so that they could fix up the cabin as their private hangout. In the late 90s/early 2000s the BLM added this location to the now defunct "Adopt-A-Cabin" program. The volunteers of the defunct program now care to this cabin as long as several others in the Mojave desert.
Thanks for your concern. He had plenty of shade and water available. It was hot at that time and black dogs don't take to the summer sun too well. Plus, he was excited. I always watch him closely. He wasn't in danger. He just looks that way.🤠🐶
I have a 11month old hoarding Sheep dog that she gos after everything when walking her she is 75lbs too please help me is this going to help with walking her
Sorry about the delayed response. I'm dealing with this pup issue currently. He's a hunter that has his ears turn off to my commands when he's after critters. He had a lot of issues when I got him and it's been some time but we're getting close to off-leash again hopefully. Honestly, I don't think he really cares. He just like doing things with me which I'm ok with too. Try a large unoccupied dog park if available and work on his return training. That's what we have been doing when possible. I use the GPS collar as a safety net to relocate my pup. The problem with this device is that it's point to point. New tech my provide better overall tracking vs this unit these days.
How did you get onto Congress from the highway? I don't want to cross private property. Looks like you turn on to Harmon, and then did you go straight south on Johnnie Ave before heading west on Congress, or did you take that SW diagonal road that comes close to someone's property?
What a tragedy. Just speculating but I wouldn't be suprised if the Wife tried to convince the Husband to go back to the Cabin, because she knew they would be safe there (They have been there before). But his stubborness & not wanting to loose face, he decided to move on.. Also we don't know what State of mind they where then. I can only imagine how all that can f.... up your mind.
And it all could have been avoided if Egbert wasnt a pompous, gambling drunkard and worried more about his families survival instead of getting the rental car back in time. And to think he was an engineer lol Lmfao even
I've heard that the skeletal remains of the adults were found & eventually identified, but the children were never found. Its my belief that the reason why the children weren't found is probably because they died first and the parents buried their bodies. Granted, in shallow graves, but its way harder to find covered bodies then it is to find skeletons laying out on the ground. And Death Valley is too large to just dig in random spots. Very sad story, imho.
@@SwissMarksman No, I can't be sure. It was a guess. And I make this guess based on these things...Children will succumb to dehydration & hunger much sooner than adults will. If a parent's child dies, they may either not want to leave the dad child behind, or they might worry about scavengers getting to the body. No bones of the children were ever reported to have been discovered. Burying the bodies just makes the most sense to me. But I admit, I could be wrong. And even if scavengers did get to the bodies, there should be some bones discovered of the older child, but they weren't (none that were reported anyway). Also, the adults bones were scattered, so it does hint that scavengers got to them as well. But again, no child size bones were ever found. The parents burying the children in shallow graves just makes the most sense to me, but I could be wrong. And if the parents can continue to walk for a few miles, then they can probably bury a small child in a shallow grave. But again, I can't be sure, its just a guess.
@@paranoyd70 I tought I read somewhere (maybe even on Tom Mahood's blog) that they found some remain of Children Skeleton, but the bones where too try to figure any DNA traces out.
beyond just a great all around review, the optics are just spot on with the background and up close shots. found myself drifting into the background a few times just listing to your low gravelly details. thanks
Their van had everything needed that I believe would have saved their lives. They left to get attention but why not let them come to you? A sign of blak smoke from a burning tire can get rangers and 4-wheelers attention! They could have waited in the air conditioned van. If needed, going through all 5 tires plus brush would have been enough. They should have considered anything to live!
The Geologist cabin would have been their best bet and I'm sure that crossed their mind! Sadly though, they chose to walk further in another direction. This was probably because of a time schedule. They might have doubted help showing up soon at the cabin since it was summertime. However, the base had guards 24/7 -- or so they thought. In this case, black smoke from a burning tire would have alerted help probably sooner than at the cabin. My heart goes out for this poor family 🎗️
@@victorcontreras9138 Apparently he was a smoker because they found a pipe in the car. But do you really think they had the strength to jack up the car & get a tire out (all by hand)?
The van had a spare tire, it was not used. If he put the little spare on the front, dug out the sand and put some rocks behind the tires, they might have got out, even with the flat rears. Might not have worked but they never even tried. Not going back to the cabin was stupid
The isolated building was a stage coach depot with a scale. Up the road about a mile is the gravesite of a young boy who died during the town’s heyday. People still leave toys and flowers.
@traildogadventures6512 If you want that one, that's the one the Congress mine thanks can't wait to go maybe u can help me when I go I own 3 claims #2 idaho #@ nevada hugs enjoyed ur driving I slayed it buddy 😊
I love this video and I'm so happy it worked out for you guys. My dog has just out of nowhere started having these more severe symptoms, yesterday she began walking gingerly and not sitting right, just changed so much in her personality too, a lot of the same symptoms you were discussing. She's been getting this way for a while but now it ramped up and it's bad so I've been searching for something that would help her. I finally came across this product. I know it has great reviews but i wanted an untainted honest review from an average person like yourself and I'm so happy to see that this was the case for you. I'm hoping it works this way for my baby girl Holley a 14 year old Shih-Chi who owns my heart the same way i know your dog does. I'm an now subscribing to your channel and hope to see more videos if you and your best friend😊 best of luck
I'm glad you found this product and thanks for subscribing to out little channel. Unfortunately, Moe passed about 6 months after starting this supplement from a flipped stomach. I believe it was possibly due to long term medications prior to the supplement. Regardless, in his final months he was able to start running again and his medications were cut in half at the surprise to his veterinarian. The meds were maxed out when we started the supplement. I wish you and your fur baby the best in their senior years and make the most out of this time together. That's what lead to starting this channel for us. Thanks for watching. God bless your pup.
I got one of these for a whippet and it is amazing. She runs full tilt when she sees a rabbit. We see 2 or 3 rabbits a walk. With this vest and a bungie leash I have no worries at all about her hurting her long pretty neck. She has a tight stomach and huge chest, like a mini greyhound. Being able to have the straps individually tightened is the best thing about this harness for me.
I'm still having good luck with this vest. Protection our pups is essential especially when they go into hunt mode. As I mentioned, watch it in the heat. It doesn't breathe well. Ruffwear has product that I use and not only protects but is a cooler too in the hot months. Thanks for watching our little channel.
Did you get a chance to stop by the Ash Meadows resort? I'm not sure if anyone is still there, last time I stopped by with the kids and got a bucket of crayfish out of the pond was 1994.
They probably wouldn't allow crayfish now days. Ash Meadows is a national wildlife refuge nowadays. Can't say that I've visited the ranch but I've traveled through a number of times. Traveling with a pup can be restrictive to where you can go most the time. Thanks for watching our little channel.
Thanks Arthur. I haven't been there in a while. It's always a pleasure to learn more about a historic location. Thanks for watching our little channel.
I'm glad that I can help. For summer time I switch to the Ruffwear swap cooler jacket and another Ruffwear vest that has what they call the core cooler attachment. The cooler covers the underbelly but you have to buy the nylon top that fits it. Being in the SW desert it's a great summer time choice that makes a big difference for the pups tolerance of the heat. Especially when you have a black dog. The thing about it is carrying extra water to maintain the cooling effects. Thanks for watching our little channel.
I have a pitsky around 40-50 pounds rn at 7 months. The medium should be fine right? Gotta get him one of these because i have a trolly system outside but every harness i get he literally finds a way out of them or if he cant he literally chews them off by the straps so i need something hella sturdy like this for him
Sorry about the delayed response. If you keep this harness comfortably snug he might not be able to chew on it or escape. Maybe get one of those sprays with the bitter taste for the chewing. Size wise it's always difficult ordering a harness online with hopes that it will fit your pup. Especially when they're still growing. My recommendation would be to wait till the growth stage is over and then make the decision on a final product. If it's a now thing maybe get a low cost harness for now. It depends on the breed and how the pup fills out in their adolescents. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching our little channel.
How does it effect the actusl issue? I ask because if it does happen to make the condition worse from the new bursts of energy is it worth it in the long run* ?
I think that is a question for your vet in regards to your dogs medical condition. I worked with my vet for our situation and he became more active and I was able to cut his meds in half by time he passed from a different unexpected issue. The supplement didn't remove the medical issues but it did give him a better and more active life in his final months. I wish I had given him the supplement earlier than I did. My vet was impressed with the results. Involve your vet in the decision like I did. My situation could be different than yours but I was happy with the results that I saw with my pup.
Death Valley side would probably be best. The road will get rougher after the Warm Spring Camp. If the trailer is set up for off road 4x4 situations you should be good. Low clearance and small tires could be an issue. Current road conditions will vary in the canyon. Thanks for watching our little channel!!!
Wow he looks absolutely identical to my sassy, she's a border collie pit mix, and I just ordered the icefang with the molle pouches. Me and her will be doing the AT next year 🙂
