My name is Thomas. Professionally i work in the art department of the film and television industry. But if your looking for my professional references you took a wrong turn. This video channel / blog is dedicated to everything nerdy and interesting. I write about movies, animations, games, gadgets and other things i have an opinion on. Simply because i think it's fun.
I have a PSVR2 and I play on PC. But I'm fed up with cables and the small sweet spot. So I want to buy a Quest 3. However, I'm afraid the experience won't be that different from the PSVR2. Do you think it's worth it to buy a quest 3 ? (PS: money is not an issue)
If you’ve got the disposable income, the Meta Quest 3 is 100% worth it! Especially when considering the pancake lenses with a wider sweet spot and less chromatic aberration, along with the wireless setup. I tested it with Virtual Desktop, and it actually outperforms the PSVR2 app-better frame rates and way fewer stutters. Plus, you get an awesome standalone unit with some cool AR features!
@@weczisTVOkay, thanks for your opinion! Do you want to elaborate on why you think it's rubbish? I haven't had many issues with them myself and I'm generally happy with the devices, so I'm curious to hear what your bad experience has been.
After further testing, I've noticed a significant performance difference between the Quest 3 running Virtual Desktop and the PSVR2 using the PSVR2 app. The Quest 3 delivers a much higher frame rate with fewer stutters, especially in games that aren’t fully optimized, (unlike Half-Life: Alyx which runs fine). This leads me to believe that the adapter and PlayStation app are consuming a lot of resources in the background. Hopefully, this is something that can be optimized in the future.
@@rodiape @rodiape Oh no, that sounds frustrating! I didn’t run into any big issues myself. (Except for the firmware update bug ) Could it be that your PC has Bluetooth 4 instead of 5? If so, you might just need a Bluetooth 5.3 adapter, which usually costs around 10-20€/$!
I'm glad they fixed it for the people who had issues with it. I'm glad I can get a solid 2400mbps connection with my Asus RT-AX86u pro router from my bedroom to the living room.
Loved your video, quick question, for some reason I can open my door to the right but never to the left. Do you perhaps know why? I'd be hella thankful if you knew this!
Super informative video! This might be what I need to fix my wifi range issues and stuttering while playing online VR games like Ghosts of Tabor! I'm definitely going to consider this. Thanks a bunch, from one grown-up who plays games to another
Unfortunately from v64 and onwards they've broken it again, this time moreso than ever, instead of wifi dropping packets it is now dropping the connection constantly and completely, it's like fighting an uphill battle (also none of the basic troubleshooting seems to do anything anymore)
The last months I have wifi disconnections all the time. Dont have a clue either but am quite sure that it is the wifi in the goggle that is bad. My pc works well on wifi and am close to it as well. Guess it try return it.

Gret vid ty. 4 years later and I'm here getting value from your vid because omg it's making me feel sick on my 1070 (yes, upgrading soon). ty for taking hte time to make this video.
Thank you. Answered my question. If im correct, I need to set up my VR router into access point mode. It's interfering with my Internet through wireless connection.
The TP-Link AXE5400 (AXE75) has Gigabit ports - so how can you get more than 1gb (2401 Mbps) from the PC to the router please?.. Are you not using a cable from router to pc at all - and using another fast router to transmit to the AXE75 which then just passes the data on to the Quest 3?..
@@TheVirtualFuture-By-WB its a cmd batch file. It just runs a series of commands in command line to close spesiffic background prosseses. Like clouds, auto updaters etc, that are resources vampires.
i wish there would be a bug report option for Apps too on the store or app library menu. it is annoying to have a bug, but no way to report it to the game studio.
the antenna direction of your router in the shelf is suboptimal. The signal goes out as a donut of the antenna if it faces straight up. If most of them are tilted to the side as you have many of set you could reach the deadspot inside of the donat on some of the antenna. Have you tried putting it outside of the shelf and set all antenna straight up?
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH WHENEVER I WAS TALKING MY FRIENDS SAID MY MIC WAS BUZZING AND I WENT TO ADJUST VOLUME AND IT WAS BUZZING BUT WHEN I UNPLUGGED MY CHARGER IT STOPPED 😭😭tysm
Hi, i rent a shadow pc to play steam vr with quest 3. Also i bought virtual desktop but vd shows me that im not connected with shadow in same local network but anyway , thats to ignore i read in forums. I did a playthrough with half life alyx and i was stunned that it worked so well . My problem was, every 5 - 10 minutes my wifi connection broke and for 2 secs i got kicked out of the game . I heard its a problem from quest 3 since v63 or the wifi router is to lame. I tried it all but couldnt find any solution. Do you have an idea what i can do ? VPN makes it worse, tells shadow. Is there another way how to get the cloud pc ip connected to my local one ?
Just bought a quest 3 and when I press the wifi, select the network and click connect , nothing happens. the only way is to use the browser and it asks you to select the wifi. any suggestions ? thank you
I’m still having problems i’ve had this headset for seven months now it was good for week one and now I’m having trouble decided to try the headset out again and update it. Nothing helps.
Meta Quest 3 Build v.65 has been released, and guess who decided to make a reappearance? The negotiation rate bug is back, baby! It's fluctuating from 2401 Mbps to 1729-1440 Mbps every 4-5 seconds. Now, I know some of you have had problems with versions 63 and 64 too, but now, "finally," I also get to rejoin the club! Hooray 😑... However, it's a lot less noticeable than it was pre v.62. At least we are getting full speed periodically, but the fluctuating speeds will still lead to some random frame drops. This time, though, we have proof of how it's supposed to work, without people blaming us for having "too high expectations." I'm guessing Meta will patch it back up as long as people use the "report a problem" function.
It just stopped working for me randomly today with Archer AX90 | AX6600. And now I can't connect to my Wi-Fi anymore. It doesn't see 5 GHz-2 network at all and can't connect to 5 GHz-1 with correct password. I have no idea what happenned. Tried rebooting everything several times, changing password, etc. All other devices work fine.
Fresh new owner here. Eager to report that on v.68 with Nest Wifi 6G I'm getting 2100-1700Mbps and a huge bunch of unacceptable stutter. I can reduce drops by setting bitrate to fixed 10Mbps, but it looks like shit and still noticeably drops frames. Well played, meta, well played
How can you say they fixed it when it literally disconnected on you after a minute of use? This is exactly the issue with wifi6e, constant disconnects and Meta ignoring us because they would have to recall all the headsets and put proper antennas in
You’re not the only one. Before v64, Wifi 6E worked on pcvr without issue. Once I had v64, it connects on 6ghz but drops connection seconds after pressing connect button on headset. I had zero problems before v64 with my xe75 Deco 10 feet away, no obstructions.
@@famalourian2463 how do you find which bandwidth works for you??? Is it trial and error??? And do you only know if you are successful if (when you’re playing) it doesn’t frequently disconnect you?
@@MatrixMultiplication I have a TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro set up as an access point and wired to my main router. I use my setup only for PCVR, not to run any apps natively on the headset alone. The Deco is set to show 6GHz and 5/2.4 as 2 separate SSIDs, so I know which one I'm connecting to. Before v64, the Wifi 6E (6GHz) connection was perfect, smooth, flawless. Now, it appears to connect and stay connected to 6E only until I try to launch Quest Link to start PCVR. I get the black and white grid and start to hear the soft drone background music, but then it disconnects within 5-10 seconds and drops me back to the Quest 3's native UI. If I reconnect, it says it connects successfully, only to bounce me back out again within seconds. My problem with 6E started literally the instant my headset rebooted after the v64 update. v63 was SOLID and wonderful. I wish they'd just let us revert to earlier software, because it's essential for troubleshooting to have the ability. Quest support admitted over a month ago (4/18/24) on communityforums that there is a problem and they're working on it. Very frustrating... My workaround for the moment is to just use 5GHz, but that is not a solution. Edit: It's working again for me on V67! I didn't change anything with my hardware setup.
It made a comback for men in v.65. But atleast now we have proof of how it's supposed to work without people bleming us for having "to high expectations"... Guessing Meta will pach it back up as long as people use the "report a problem" function.
