Mindful, nature inspired fine art, home decor and lifestyle design for everyday creativity.
Earthy and textural fine art paintings. A beautiful life is defined by an honest approach to how we build and move through our day and what we choose to focus our attention on. I paint contemporary oil landscapes that exude emotion, tranquility and stillness.
Excellent video, madam taught every step wonderfully, and gave all the information in the most simplest and doable way, I am going try it onbthis Friday, Thanks , good luck madam,,,
Really excellent tutorial, thanks. Just what I've been looking for. I'm a big fan of using double-sided tape with fabrics - much cleaner and less messy/sticky than other glues. I do cross-stitch and I'm always looking for different ways to frame them. I didn't feel confident enough to cut my own mats, but this technique can hide less-than-perfect cutting, so I'll give it a go 😊
I am really enjoying the mix of watercolor and pastels. It is amazing what you do on a small scale and with a limited palette. And appreciate that you got rid of the music. It makes it so much easier to understand what you are saying.
Very nice! Just what I needed to see, much appreciated. I matched up an old metal frame to a kitchen dishcloth - nice linen one with good graphics. The matting is stained and awful. I wondered how to fix that cheaply. Now I know. Just use up some scrap cloth on the matting and make it like a new framing. The trick with cloth which never sits symmetrically, is to starch it slightly. Now, I'll give you some tips on refinishing wood which is my hobby. Strip with Jasco. Scrub with Acetone. Sand fine with 220 or 320 grit. If you want it darker, stain. If you like it same color but more golden, brush down with Boiled Linseed Oil. Let it soak up all the oil it wants for 15 mins. Then wipe dry and let it dry for 1-2 days. Then get Varathane Oil based Satin (or Gloss) Clear interior Polyurethane. Cut it 50:50 with Mineral spirits. Brush on a thin layer of Poly. Wait 10 mins, wipe/smear with paper towel removing drips and leaving a thin film only. Let dry in hot sun for an hour or less. When dry to touch repeat twice. Done. Make sure to oil and poly the entire frame not just the top. This preserves wood too and it is very durable - no water, alcohol, stains will penetrate. You can also stain with colors, and then you skip the oil part. Satin poly is easier to work with than gloss.
This is so exciting and inspiring to me. I really appreciate you sharing your technique. You are such a lovely person and your work is peaceful, beautiful and dreamy 🖤🤍🤎💛🧡
Hello! Thank you for this sweet comment! It makes me so happy to know that that translates through on the videos - my ultimate goal is to bring you peaceful and beautiful artwork! =) Hope you can try tutorial this someday soon!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I looked everywhere for a linen mat after seeing yours and couldn't find any. I'll share a picture when I make one❤🙂
@@donatadelanoart Thank you! I really enjoy seeing the colours you choose and the marks you make. I haven't been brave enough to give this a go yet, but I love the idea of your abstract landscapes hung in an entryway to match with the seasons. That would be so beautiful.
Thank you! I really enjoyed watching this. You are a natural at you tubing (?). Really nice voice and tone, great filming and process. Looking forward to trying this!
Thank you Maria! This ‘tubing’… It feels very unnatural to me, so you saying that is very very sweet and motivating for me! It’ll get better as we go as well!
