Uploading started just for fun and to share with some friends - channel is begiinning to grow which was a surprise!. About 7 years ago a visit to the GCR Model Railway show rekindled a childhood interest in railways. The main focus of the channel is trains, real and modelled plus some model railway electrics and photography. I'm building a model rail layout so maybe will include the odd video about that. Not sure how much time I can give to making videos!
I am currently compiling a promotional video for our forthcoming Railex model railway exhibition and would like to use your video with your permission, for which I will obviously credit you.
Thanks for all the comments - it certainly helps when people suggest other good layouts to see. Something in store for future exhibitions - I particularly hope to see Cpenhagen Fields one day.
It isn't, Im my opinion Roger Bestwick created the best N-gauge layout. Why? Because it looks incredible real. The fact that he created all the houses, church, station and landscape design himself is a great achievement. Bigger doesn't always mean better. Greetings from the Netherlands.
It's interesting, but what's the point of a railway in a world with no people? One thing that makes a great layout is the little cameoes of people going about their lives near the railway, but there's none of that here. You need passengers and workers!
In a nut shell after seeing it at Stafford NO, its large looks cramped and trying hard to do too many things and for me dosn't accive much ! sorry but I have seen better layouts
Thanks very much and glad you liked it. You have a wonderful variety of trains in Japan and I can see from your channel that you are successfully documenting quite a few. Hello Kitty is really cool!
This is probably the best N gauge layout I have seen although I am sure that there are others on the circuit that would match it! What do YOU think? Can you suggest some other favourites so that we could build a TOP TEN LIST?
Thanks, yes it is 😊 This is one the best videos of the layout we’ve seen, we’re at the Stafford show this weekend but I’ll add a link to this next week via our website if OK - dwanddrc.wixsite.com/james-street Should you see us at any future shows, feel free to say hi!
Hi Dave, Thanks for posting and I must apologise for not replying sooner but for some reason RU-vid filtered your message to the 'to be deleted' section and I can't think why! I'm still new to RU-vid and feeling my way with it so I've much appreciated your comment. This was one of the earliest model rail videos I've produced as i started at the Loughborough Show (apart from something from my layout build). In fact it was fortunate that the lighting was good at Loughborough. We did see you at Stafford but I felt the lighting was not great there. Many thanks for proposing to link it through your website too. Perhaps this is a nudge for you to do it as I can't find it at the moment! Incidentally I first saw James Street at the GCR show - was it 2016 or 17? it wowed me then and still does.
Hi - it's definitely a lot of fun to watch and US mountain and mining railroads certainly give opportunities for creative modelling. I just love the Shays. Here in the UK this scale is not widely used.
