You remove the plastic cover (two tabs left and right). Under the plastic cover, you have two bolts to remove the assembly and pull the wire out through the fender. I did not need to replace the antenna mount but I think you do it that way or by removing the glove box and hoping for the best.
Hello, Thank you for your video, I have a slightly different problem on my Boxster 987.2, when I press the steering wheel to sound the horn, the center of the steering wheel remains pressed and the horn sounds continuously. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?
On every car, you have to check two things. Relays and horn switch. If you press your horn and manually pull it back to turn it off it's your horn switch. If you have to disconnect the battery to stop that madness it will be your sticky horn relay.
Here's what you've done. You took the old filter and the gasket on the old filter got stuck on the engine. Now you double-gasket the filter and that's why it's leaking. Ask me how I know...
Thanks! Also, check the washer on the outside by the shifter pedal. It gets pushed and in some cases, you don't even have to open the clutch but simply change the washer (for a bigger plastic piece) and you will be all set.
Do any of you making these changes realize that making any changes at all to any of the components such as exhaust alters the fuel mapping and timing, etc.. all of the sensors tell the engine how to run. If you change the muffler you alter the exhaust flow which alters the readings that the O2 sensors and map sensors send to the computer. The computer will now adjust the fuel mapping, timing etc., which results in less horsepower and less economy in addition to wearing out your engine faster because it wasn't designed to run in that state. If you want to make these exhaust changes get a tune to adjust for the changes, then you can still have the muffler sound you want and have the most possible horsepower and economy.
Most vehicles have 3 parts of the exhaust. Header (that normally has catalytic converter), mid pipe (again, another cat) and exhaust canister on the back. The video shows a rear canister that has nothing to do with O2 sensors, which are located on the downpipe (header). After that, you DO NOT make any drastic changes besides just getting a better flow and lower exhaust temps (and nicer exhaust sound as well).

Depends on current condition and history. If they parked for a long time you will be looking for the same amount of maintenance as they would have more miles. Your battery would need to be swapped and programmed, fluids changed, etc. It all comes down to the condition and the price tag.

Not as bad as it looks. I have to edit over 10+ videos and it's much better right now. Also, I did not blow the budget, and if you consider the $18k price tag where we started + $2k taxes, etc + $4k in different parts = $24k together for perfectly sorted 981 with over $27k in original options and $80k original sticker. Not bad.

I bught the same one made by Dyna Max. Absolutely love it! When you get on it it sounds amazing and gets better the longer it is on. Highway speed its quite. I painted my tips firecracker red to match my Jeep. The muffle matte black gi temp. I would definitely uy it again. You have to tighten the tips really right!

It's already looking much better and we have about 10 videos coming up soon. I think 981 was the best out of all generations. Not a fan of 718 due to the engine replacement.

Lol. SF Bay area is not as it used to be. Someone was trying to steal my bike at the beginning of this year and I lost two cars (Kia and Hyundai). So now I'd rather chain them instead of dealing with police, recovery, etc.

There is if you can work on them yourself. I bought a 986 8 years ago for £3600, it never went to a garage, I did 25k hard miles in it and it was written off a couple of months ago and I got paid out £3300 and kept the car to break. Will probably make £5k braking it.

I was looking for 981 specifically. Just like the design and features not to mention this is the last gen of flat 6 before they went with 2-2.5L turbo. In the next video, we will be talking about maintenance and fixes. It's not as bad as it looks. If you put some time you can get it sorted out as long as it's not a faulty PDK or bad engine. I saw a few 981 over the years with those issues and had to pass. That one mostly cosmetics and simple fixes. I filmed like 10 videos already and it's looking really good. It sounds good and not bothering when you go over 60 mph. I had the same situation and droning was awful before I put this one. Go get it and make sure to buy aftermarket hangers or it might not fit without them.
That's what I did and as you can tell big bikes are now only slowing me down. 230 lb at the moment. Trying to drop 20 pounds to gain extra HP ;) This Ninja 400 is tuned to 53-55 hp at the wheel.
@@MotoRenaissance I have 2020 R6 that's also track preped. I've noticed that my lap times are only a few seconds faster on R6 but the longer I stick to Ninja 400 the faster I get. Small bikes rule!
Now a lot of devices alert you about the Apple Air tag. Whoever is taking the bike will be checking that first. I had two stolen cars. The very first thing they checked - fuse blocks and under the hood for trackers. I'm sure if someone wants your bike they will have the Find My app and quickly will be able to leave it where they will take your bike.
The statement that "the cover will hit the lock with the alarm and annoy your neighbourhood" isn't true. I've been using an alarm with the sound for 2 years now and a bike cover. On top of that sometimes I park my car way too close to the bike and slightly touch the cover. Wind or even a light touch doesn't trigger the alarm. Direct contact with the alarm or the wheel does.
Also, I'm not sure about the statement that "it's hard to put the key in". I understand that you just bought a bunch of locks you didn't use for a long time. But like do you have eyes and hands? It might feel weird for the first couple of times but after that, it's easy to unlock it without getting deaf. You getting used to it. Like to any lock.
So in otherwords I might as well buy an aftermarket steering wheel if I'm ever ready to replace the buttons since it seems like theres just as much disassembly.
The replace the wheel you would have to undo a few more parts. If your steering wheel still looks good I would stick to it. This is more or less cosmetic and style upgrade but when you have missing buttons - that's kinda must have.
Apart from the elevations, man that track is trash. Whats up with all the patch work on the race lines. Thats crazy scary stuff! That whole track needs to be repaved, or atleast paved in the turns
They repaved it about a year ago. Look at the Sonoma that just did new re-pavement (first time in 20+ years) and what people are saying about quality. Laguna at least got good abrasive surface and when it's warm outside you get really good grip. Too pricey, that's my main concern.
@@Beyond_Repair I used to race in US about 20 years ago mainly in florida. Sure the tracks wore not the top, but they took care of the asphalt. Now I race in the middle east tracks, there tracks are solid 5 stars. You wont find a single repair patch, massive amounts of grip. For me to see such a legend of a track laguna seca be slapped together patch work is shockingly crazy. Ship your bike over here, and do track days during summer, much cheaper
@@ibidu1 I have to try other places one day. At the moment got stuck with Laguna that cost from $400 (for 5 seasons) to $600 (7 seasons), Tunderhill E&W ($200 for 7 seasons) and Sonoma ($250-$350).
@@Beyond_Repair Those prices are nuts! Here Qatar Lusail costs $120 (For 3 sessions) Bahrain BIC (6 sessions) $253 Kuwait KMT $212 (3 hours open no breaks) Dubai autodrome $200. Mind you these are 5 star tracks, everything is pristine. I remeber years ago, in US I had to bring my own canopy, generator, AC ec. Here you have fancy garages, they place there own lap timers on the bikes. Each garage has tv screens with your time and others, you have your own power, bathroom, ac in the garage. lol.. Apart from Lusail, none of our tracks have tire sellers at the track, thats a huge plus for the US imo. Years ago I used to be able to buy take off tires from pro riders from the tire guys.
I have no idea why this video was recommended to me, but I was expecting to see a ninja running 400 laps around Laguna Seca and I am very disappointed.
