it's 1 am and i havent thought about omori in a while and i clicked on this and remembered how sunny is kind of just like me fr and now i want to go to bed so i dont have to think about that. thank you i needed sleep
For those who don't know, in one of the holes that spawn after collecting a key, Omori will be taken to a small room with two VHS tapes and a TV. One of these tapes is labelled "Sunny" and the other is labelled "Basil". If the player picks up the Sunny tape and inserts it into the TV, they will be greeted with a scene of Sunny looking at the keys of the piano, and then looking at himself. This image here is taken from that cutscene.
It had a huge impact on mine too... over the summer... I was dealing with some very horrible stuff... parents fighting... girlfriend breaking up with me... no one to talk with... I discovered this game and well... in some ways it made me feel worse but it helped me understand that I wasn't alone... it's too bad I was never able to finish it before it got removed off of Xbox MICROSOFT YOU ABSOLUTELY PIECES OF CRAP RENEW OMOCAT'S LICENSE AND PUT IT BACK IN... anyway... my life is... still the same as it was last summer... except I have a girlfriend and I have to live with my crazy horrible grandmother... winter made it worse too... that's why Sunny is my personal favorite character... same with Kris from Deltarune... Kris went through exactly what I did... honestly... I wish these two existed somewhere in the world... so I can meet them... these two characters are important to me... and I cherish them...
POV: You're MARI, hanging out with your friends. Excited for the recital that'll happen tomorrow. You think everything may turn perfect after all! But . . . you couldn't have been more wrong. You couldn't have even thought your brother's violin would be a cause of a traumatic, depressing death. Your brother would take you, your brother would take his childhood crush's idol, he would take his other childhood friend's brother's partner, and will eventually damage the sanity of your best friend . . . BASIL.
Takes me back to when my daughter fell in a coma last November. She used to love the Omori soundtracks. Played them all day, every day, she always had some sort of song playing, some background music she would change to in order to fit conversations and before we went outside, there was always something she had for us. She always loved soundtracks. Many of those things she always had to play were these tracks; especially By Your Side. There was never silence. Never really realized how big of a difference it made until she was gone. You know? We used to play these songs for her while she was in that coma. We decorated her bedside, sometimes my friend would draw little flowers on her hands. Small things. Didn't cause any harm to her, but as still as she was she sure did look more lively when you had some flowers in the room! Me and my husband were told that if we played music she loved it could help her condition since music is a stimulus. She fell over 4 stories. Was in critical condition for months, and we almost totally lost her more than three times. Though she still struggles with walking and balance sometimes, occasional respiration issues, things like that. She told me once that she was sorry about what happened. I told her no no, you did nothing wrong dear, some things happen and all these feelings come in waves. You'll feel happy again soon, and it's great that you're still here with me to even feel sad. She really is my little miracle for surviving. That's all, long comment I know. Ha ha. But I can't tell my husband about this right now, he's who I normally would strike up a conversation with about it, but right now I just want some time alone. Ha ha. This is just what my mind fell to tonight. Thank you for uploading this video. Your favorite Omori songs are some of my favorites too!
I saw a couple comments saying how's it different? It's transposed into a lower key, aka the notes are lower, and it's slowed. For me, it sounds like it's a lot more tired, hopeless, and sad.
ok but what if you could still go on the SUNNY route in the Hikikomori route? if you had done something before OMORI saves you on the hikikomori route, it would give you a prompt on that cutscene, 2 answers. one of them would let you continue on the hikikomori route, one would let you go back to the SUNNY route, if you had chosen that second option, it would show SUNNY refusing to hold on to OMORI's hands, therefore facing all of the guilt himself and waking up in BLACK SPACE. after the truth segment you'd get a message saying BASIL would kill himself on the last day at night, i mean its all revertable right? doing something that would prevent BASIL from killing himself on three days left, afterwards, you'd go in the toybox room and go down memory lane again, after that you'd fight OMORI, wake up after playing the final duet (this version) in your bedroom except it doesn't have the Somethings in it, it would be day and KEL would be knocking on the door again. Answer it, go to BASIL's house, i think at that point the RW friends would've gotten back together, so KEL might just inform everyone. The same fight with BASIL occurs again and it would lead straight to the hospital segment, just way longer. then the good ending part is still the same so yeah.
Me and my boyfriend used to say we would play final duet together one day, and the song always made me think of our love story. Having recently left the relationship due to mental illness, I'm listening to this right after putting his pictures in a box and saying goodbye for now. Who would have thought that Omori would help me get through such a hard time yet again...
I feel like they all represent the stages of grief in a way. Kel is acceptance and the others are other ones I forgot the ones but you can figure out for yourself easily
i oddly keep coming back to this video, it's comforting whenever i'm feeling sad or stressed about my life, and it's been really helpful oddly these past few days, so thank you
