A few runs looks like the zx10r was in second gear and the gsxr was in third gear... Gsxr should also have been in second gear, was too low down in rpms to be racing... The 1000s are good for more than 100mph in first gear I would have been in first nevermind third 🤦🏻♂️
I have a k5 and despite thoroughly loving it and not wanting to swap it for a bag full of electronic nanny aids (although I’d like the BMW heated grips)……I still think it’d lose to a 200bhp rr. Mines tastefully modified and makes 173bhp at the rear wheel but I think I’d get gapped on the latter part of the straights by this bike. I put this down to rider error on the Beemer surely?
you can only get so much power from a 1000cc engine...once you have maxed out that power, you can move it around but you are not going to make more power. So the BMW has a better top end, but at the expense of midrange. The only 'real' difference between the two engines is cam shaft profiling and timing. But I loved the K1-K4 because they had massive low end power...then the K5-K9 moved the power to the midrange, then they just dumped it all up top for the numbers...still prefer K1-K9 on street...
I think its rider error. I had a 16 s1000rr, with full arrow exhaust against a friends 2012 gsxr1000 with a full racefit exhaust and tune. I was able to just stay ahead of him by a bike length. In saying that he was able to stick side by side till over 120mph i was actually suprised that it did so well. Most of these bikes are so closely matched it really comes down to rider and preference
All i know my k6 still a beast still strong and for sure ass hell my friend that is a better rider then me with 2015 s1000rr respects me wen we race!!!!the bmw a hell off a bike though!!!
hello, your videos are awesome, keep making it. A question. Do you changed the gearing to longer? Cause its strange that you going 300 still in 5th gear, and the 6th gear is barely usable. Maybe i am wrong, but seems like that, even based on rpm in this video. The audio is way better if you use it from exhaust sound
Yes i did, i have -2 at the rear… it was a experience to see if with the full stock bike i could hit the rev limiter in 6th gear, but i have to flash it… stay tunned 😈

Just shows how good the GSXR was 11 years before that Aprillia came out! An the K5 continues to be that good, put a full system on the K5 an then see what happens
i thought this k5 is already on full system yoshi titanium ... but if it a 2012-2014 rsv4 aprc , i would say k5 is clearly will smoke it... 2014 onwards aprc got slightly more hp
