but how do you get the drone to release it? is this the next step for putting up an antenna? has anyone tried it. maybe just up and ovr the tree and land then unhook?
Can you use a power line on the Mississippi River? If yes how many hooks? I, too, remember fishing off the dime pier, between Navy pier and the locks, which was about 65 years ago. My dad paid a dime for a man to row us out there. The perch fishing was phenomenal if we had a SW wind. I have some very fond memories of fishing the Chgo lake front!
It depends on the hook limit of the portion of the Mississippi River your on. I used to use my power line set up by hand throwing on the Illinois River most hooks I used for that was 6
I used both power lines and trolley lines to fish off the piers in Racine, Wisconsin. That was in the mid 1950's. The power lines we had were wrapped on a board and the weight usually was a half brick tied with string. Didn't have the money to waste on lead anchors since half the time the anchor never came back. Had 4 and 6 hook leaders with #6 hooks and bait was usually lake shiners. Sometime crayfish tail. Caught lots of perch in those days. A good day was a 6 foot stringer full. A spectacular day was twice that. Not a one was wasted. Now, nearing my 80th year, I find myself drifting back in my mind to those beautiful days.
The irony is that this looked like exactly what I was looking for, setting up a powerline style Fish shell (techy computer stuff), until I realized that it was quite literally how to powerline fish haha. Looks like a well done video though. I may watch it anyway.
I used to see people doing this when I was little, but that was a long time ago; so long ago, they also used to shoot sporting clay's on the lake front.
