As someone who is always tired, and really just needed sleep to take care of my first, let alone second..............man I am exhausted, haha, I am so grateful for my husband's willingness to get up with second baby in the middle of the night until she slept all the way through since he did in fact understand how exhausted I was. We did take turns when things settled a bit. She is 2yo and he is 5yo high functioning ASD and I just......I just want to take a week to nap. They both sleep fairly well too......haha. 🥹

Having them young is normal. We make It out to be not but It is. And you can enjoy plenty time together in between if you plan It right and after your kids move out. In your case that will be in your early fourties. Next to that there are plenty of oppertunity to make a carreer after 40. So I think you are being smart about It.
