Hey I know where this is! Have you gone back yet to investigate the stream? I think we tag up and adventure up there! ps. Thanks for the dip, refreshing!
In the 90s the two-wheel drive Ural gear-up had a differential so you could use the two wheel drive on regular pavement. I don't know why they don't do that anymore.
I like the fact that my 1999 Euro tourist is soviet-made. Everything on it is tough . I hate the new Italian wheel the spokes are much thinner than the Soviet wheel and the rim is much t h i n n e r. I don't even like the looks of it on the spare tire rack. Drum brakes are much better in the winter too because disc brakes freeze over. I replaced my front brake cable on my Euro in 30 seconds. By hand no tools at all. Simple is good.
I used to make so much money as a kid in New York shoveling off a stoop and the sidewalk in front of people's houses. It was the only time outside of birthdays and Christmas that you actually saw paper money. Of course money was worth stuff in those days.
When I was a kid in New York I would ride my bicycle everywhere even in the snow to save the $0.25 train fare. My uncle and Astoria had a set of Firestone snow tires mounted on a set of Harley rims hanging in the basement. He would swap the wheels out when the snow got bad. Imagine in the 1950s enough people rode their motorcycles to work in the snow that it was viable for Firestone to make snow tires just for motorcycles.
When I used to ride my motorcycles in the winter and Texas when it was 20° I would have to kick the motor over and over to turn up the oil cuz you could feel it getting thick from the cold. When people would be looking at me from a nice warm car and it's 20 degrees and sleeting and I'm riding my motorcycle thinking I must be crazy I probably am
In England in the old days if you put a sidecar on your motorcycle in the winter your insurance company will give you a discount because it lessens the chance of an accident.
I have seen footage like - cams from Russia and I'll show traffic on highways and they'll be a gyro on the highway in the Siberian winter now that's winter.
Nice video! I see a C Dory for sale in Harrisburg today... wonder if it might be yours? I also boat in the harrisburg area... if I see you on the water I'll pull up and ask to check out your CDory!
Thank you for the video! The rain is one of the reasons we like the CDory cabin-more days on the water, even if the weather is not the best. We are hoping for a 22,23,or 25?? I haven’t seen one up close yet, does the hull pound bad in chop?? Thank you
I certainly still have it. Just haven't done any videos. But thanks for the kick in pants to do some more. I have been kicking around a trip on erie canal. Would be a perfect boat for that.
Nice set up. I have a 1990 16 angler with a Honda 40 EFI. This will be the first summer I get to really use it. All sorts of adventures planned on Lake Superior. Very capable boats.
You're definitely far more suited to installing rooftop vents then you are at recording video and audio. I only made it to the 5:15 in the time line. It sounded like you rubbing pices of styrofoam together.
yea pretty terrible. I expected some ridicule from those who state the obvious. Just turn sound down and the visuals pretty much show the highlights of the installation.
Nice to see a detailed and close up van installation. That makes the process seem a lot less daunting. I assume you used a metal blade? Edit: not a lot of videos have details like running the wire from the fan and through the metal channel! So I hope you made a lot more.
Hi, I'll be taking order of my C Dory 16 next month. I was wondering where you got your bimini and back curtain canvas. I know you're in Pa. I'm in the Delaware area. Thanks
@@sanibel2008 I bought her from Three Rivers Marine, a dealership in Florida. I've been enjoying your videos, sort of daydreaming about what it will be like. I can't wait.
I want a Ural gear up so bad. I'm afraid of it being able to keep up on the highways around here, however. When the traffic clears people do 80+ mph. My Honda Shadow 750 sometimes has trouble keeping up.
I feel ya. I have a 2020 Gear Up Sahara and it is sketchy at freeway speeds. People will slow down when they see it though and mostly gawk! Love it. We had our first big snow in West Texas and I am about to go try the negative steering for myself!
Most Excellent! Those of us enamored with the small C-Dories eat this stuff up. Keep'em coming, Captain and I'm sure you'll build a faithful following! Many of us live near rivers and yearn to play Huck Finn in our leisure hours!
This is great and real for those of us who attempt modifications for the first time with 'fear and trembling'! That smile you had after you drilled yer first hole said it all. The queasy feeling and the nagging voice,"what have i done" as you accomplish yer task. Good job and a well done. Would love to see more C-Dory 16 vids as This is the model I'm tempted to buy and play Huck Finn in!
Thanks for the video! What kind of fan is that? Could you share a link? I think I found this exact one on Amazon. That’s right where I want to put my fan.
