Les Amateurs virtuoses international piano festival is a French-based organisation dedicated to offering some of the most outstanding amateur pianists in the world chances to perform in prestigious venues all over the globe. It is also meant as a bond between amateurs and professionals : masterclasses and shared concerts allow for sparkling connections between music-lovers from all horizons. It is a celebration of the word "amateur" in its purest etymological meaning : one who loves.
Trop marrant ;-) A+
Mr Shishkin and also the partners gave a wonderful performance. But why the idiotic narrative - isn't this the reason why Saint-Saens didn't want this piece to be published in his lifetime?? It usually disturbs a lot and in this very case, the story is especially nonsensical and even spoken over the performance! It's respectless towards this serious composer and towards this funny but still sophisticated composition. That's too bad, because otherwise this could have been a great show. It would be more appropriate nowadays to give some insight what's the meaning behinde the parts of this carnival.
Assuming the ve kept themselves in shape , musicially and technically and physically...the ONLY real difference between "AMATEUR" But VIRTUOSO artists and PROFESSIONALS is really the amateurs do NOT make playing in public as their primary means of earning. but often they are AS accomplished as the well-known PROFESSIONALS.
We were very lucky to perform all concerts on wonderful Steingraeber pianos, which are made a couple of hundred meters away from this very concert hall, in Bayreuth! But on this very video, it is indeed the Steinway piano which used to belong to Wagner himself.
YOU SURELY KNOW ABOUT THE AMATEUR CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY, WHICH EXISTS MORE THA 50 YEARS, GATHERING THOUSANDS OF MEMBERS ALL OVER THE WORLD. I AM A MEMBER SINCE DECADES,
Would like to know who she studies with and also how many hours she practises every day. I think she must have played as a child. Lovely playing , thank you.
Very fine playing by Caroline Kirchhoff! Thank you for posting! (I think it should read "this concert in the ..." instead of "his concert in the...") (from Canada)
Cant believe this video does not have more views. Guys this is a FANTASTIC rendition of Borsalino. Loved how you inserted the Chopin Revolutionary Etude into the performance.
