When this first come out my wife said let's go watch it at the cinema but I was like I ain't watching a film about men stripping then I heard the reviews went to watch it & must admit brilliant movie

I love/hate the movie. I love it on its own merits but not as a representation of the Who album. This was more a Mods v Rockers movie than an exploration of a doubly schizophrenic profound character. Phil Daniels was amazing and I agree with not understanding how he didn't become a huge star after his performance. But the movie character does not appear to be or exhibit any behavior to indicate that he's schizofrenic (let alone "quadro"-phenic) and has more the common angst that all teenagers have, amplified by constant pill popping. He's even popular amongst his friends, not an outcast. All the Mods considered themselves outcasts as a whole, but Jimmy is not in his circle, until towards then end he finally gives in to his angst and rebels against his job and gets kicked out by his quite loving parents. The Jimmy on the album is 4 distinct personalities (thematically represented by each character of the Who) woven into one troubled soul with way more complexity and profundity than the movie Jimmy (IMO). But again, the movie on its own is a classic, very enjoyable, and Phil Daniels killed it.
From 2024 they're already making insects as food but I'm only here for this sound I've found on Instagram about the crickets 🦗 sound😊 a rather magical and incredible sound.
Quadrophenia is a great story and like many, I could really relate to the character of Jimmy. Great documentary although I can never agree with Townshend regarding Keith Moon as a drummer, without him; The Who would have sounded lightweight and would have been just another Kinks clone band.
Listen ....he wrote it...able to sing it ...but needs band to hit charts....I think he deserves the coin.....although I think bands should be paid equally.... But would Tony Hadley be famous w out gary ?
I saw this as a teenager in the early 80s at our local community centre, half the room were Mods and the other half were Skinheads..such an atmosphere. Watched it at least once a year since.
Parts of what Jimmy went through was excatly what i went through, In love with a girl who in the end didnt give a shit about me,,,,so...to many drugs n booze to ease myself, walking alone on a beach out of my head....friends sided with my girlfriend so i got the boot from my gang so to speak, went on alone.....IM ONE....MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
