I was kind of wondering if it was a bicycle friendly trail or just a hiking trail. But either way, I hope to do it next year.

The Lost World shot a scene off the Hunnewell- Donald Memorial trail right before you get to the platform at Big Tree..You guys walked right past the location. The scene where the cast is walking back to base camp Jeff Goldbloom & Julianne Moore are climbing over the big log & chatting. The camera pans following them while position in this trail.
Great video. But to inform you the Lost World Stego scene was filmed at Prairie Creek just off the Revolution trail when you hike behind the visitor center off the Newon Drury parkway. You will recognize the logs across the creek next to the trail and a seated outdoor amphitheater. I too thought the stego scene was shot in the the mouth of the fern canyon but nope. Also the scenes where Julianne Moores charactor was petting the baby & attacked was, again just off the Revolution trail in the creek bed before you reach Elk Prairie campground.
Looks like a nice place to spend the day! Me and my wife love going to places like this and get footage for our channel. thanks for sharing your experience !
The last time I was in that Surgeon's quarters was in 1967, when I was there on a 2nd grade field trip. I will have to check it out again next time I visit my home town.
That is how our cat acts whenever we get smaller toys. For some reason she really loves these larger cardboard things. That said, sometimes I feel like she would just prefer playing with trash! haha.
