Great video. Would have liked to have seen more of the trip across Lake Manapouri and the bus ride to Doubtful Sound. By the way, I have never heard Lake Te Anau called a "sea". But you are forgiven. The keas are attracted to areas where there are tourists. They seek food (and windscreen rubber) but should not be fed. My vote also goes to Doubtful Sound.
Thank you 😊 we didn't put too much from the ride there as we didn't want an even longer video. Loved the Kea's but we always kept our distance as we knew they were engaged and have laws protecting them and we're sure rubber isn't good for their digestive health but we don't think they eat it 😂
Those are great countries to visit and seems like you have the drive to travel so early in life so well done! Hope to see you travel more places when you can
This was such a great video. I was interested right to the end. Amazing content, beautiful production. Loved the bits of humour you injected also. Well done! I want some of those pancakes 🥞 And that Tommahawk steak 🥩 🤤
We live close by and been to Milford many times so seen it sunny dry and pouring rain so each jave their own beauty. The Kea are usually near the entrance to the Homer tunnel on the way in. The road is OK if you are used to windy roads which we grow up on but many tourists are used to driving on motorway roads and don't have a clue plus many are busy looking at the views and unaware of other people. Doubtful Sound was on a bright sunny, cool and windless day and i agree. I think Doubtful is better but that could change depending on the weather. The water was like glass and they stopped the engine and drifted in absolute silence which was an amazing feeling looking at that scenery. Glad you enjoyed it . I was in Dog Swamp for a while many years ago after working for years Kalgoorlie area. Found this looking for a video on Doubtful to send a friend in Texas who is very keen to see Fiordland. Sent many of the walks and told him Doubtful is better but both are amazing.
We agree that the winds are certainly manageable if you're experienced enough as we've driven around Iceland and that is more windy than new Zealand as a whole so we were prepared but wanted to see Milford sound and doubtful sound without the distraction of driving and missing the beautiful scenery on the way. We were just unlucky with the weather as both times were raining quite heavy but absolutely loved it even then. We haven't been to Kalgoorlie yet but it's certainly on our list and the surrounds. We hope to help those who want to make a decision on Milford or Doubtful especially if those who are going have not much time. Really glad you enjoyed the video 😊 and we hope you're friend over in the States finds it helpful.
A sign with a slash is an open road. That means you can travel to 100 kays. Bikers paradise, as an expat kiwi living in Brizzy we have mountain roads that are restricted to 60..😂😂
That was Emirates business class on the way back. We actually think that the business class is definitely worth it for the flight from Christchurch to Sydney pricing wise and the service was excellent.
Hi guys, love your videos. This one though had me in tears, I was in Christchurch for 4 weeks, based in the base backpackers in the cathedral square in 2009, I feel in love with the city. It broke my heart to see the devastation after the earthquake, but it's looking really good in its redevelopment. Thank you again for the great videos.
We are glad you enjoyed our video and previous ones 😊 we were quite happy with how Christchurch has rebuilt and with how they are using new and existing material to keep some of the buildings original
There is a actually school of dolphins in Doubtful Sound, they usually ride the bow wave of the boats as you travel through, at least there was when I was a kid. I just looked it up.......apparently the population has decreased significantly.
