De apoco el wing chun se va metiendo en MMA en USa Vincent Meng (Hijo de Benny Meng ya debutó y ganó) y Jonathan Martinez (shaolin wing chun Colombia) también peleó y ganó. La gente que criticó al Wing chun va a tener que cerrar el hocico. Estoy super orgulloso de hacer wing chun, de ser alumno del grand master Benny Meng y de representar a la escuela "Shaolin wing chun" en Argentina.
The lesson that could be learned from this is to NEVER limit yourself to just one martial art. Every martial art has its uses AND its downsides, so bein' a one-trick pony can come back to bite you in the long run.
Muy Thai guy kept getting evasive every time a wing chun technique was being utilized. Which is smart because wing chun is excellent for counters, but he got the nerve to throw his hands in the air, acting out his impatience, when HE is the one backing off.🙄

It’s very pleasing to see Wing Chun evolving to compete in modern full contact competition; just like Karateka evolved and adapted when they began competing in MMA! Wing Chun cannot continue to emphasise the training of techniques that worked well in 1920s Foshan or 1950s Hong Kong, against traditional Kung Fu practitioners! Times have changed. Even worse, we can’t continue propagate & try to use some “fantasy Wing Chun” style! In the reality of self defence or combat, Wing Chun looks nothing like an Ip Man film! Chain punching with the arms while the body remains stationary or leaning backwards like the leaning tower of Pisa! Completely ignoring all of Wing Chun’s long range punching! Seriously wtf!
I trained both wing chun but still learned boxing.. Just in case I get in an actual fight and wing chun dont work.. I think it's good for single punches but you'll get KO'd if the opponent throw combos.
Important to note that in real Wing Chun you are supposed to do finger jabs to eyes and throat, kicks to the groin as primary weapons. Do quick damage in a real self defense situation, then run to safety before more attackers might show up...

I don’t really believe Wing chun is for real fight. Look around the world, people would use Muay Thai, Karate, Judo or BJJ skills in street fight or stage. Wing chun was created by Woman, we can see the ways of hand movements in wing chun are so pretty and………..…..girly. Wing Chun can be so popular just because of celebrity effect, and they have so many interesting props like wood dummy, Bart cham dao and long stick.
