Oh man, I know this video is old, but trashing that Suomy Ben Bostrom helmet made me cringe. I believe they are considered a collector's helmet now, I have one and actually crashed twice while wearing it. However, not once did I hit my head, which was kind of amazing considering the second crash put me in the hospital ICU for seven days and five operations, and several years of PT later I still own it. It's 15 years old now and retired. It has only one tiny chip from when it fell off my saddle. Great looking lid. I liked the point GoGo made on the elbow construction of the Vanson leathers, it makes perfect sense. Years ago I low-sided my 916 Ducati at the track and I rolled 3 or 4 times. I came out of it OK, sprained wrist, but the rolling action twisted my left arm leather and exposed my elbow to the asphalt. I sustained a bleeding abrasion despite the leather having elbow armor. I thought the jacket was tight enough, I guess the armor wasn't built like a Vanson.
You aren't out a set of leathers. Send the leathers and serial number back to Vanson and they'll sew a new arm on, no problem. I'm looking at their airbag suit. I want to lose a few more pounds and I'm going to ride up to their factory for a fitting.
One thing that really stands out is how many places the serial number shows up. Labels, warranty card, key fobs. The fact that everything is recorded is really a great idea, as far as I'm concerned. It's kind of like getting a part of the company looking out for you at any given time.
So you are saying that small Mediul Lg X LG and XX Lg does not fit everyone. I am having issues with my waist measuremeant being way too large.. I hate to invest in Leathers while my waist dimension is out of control I was up to 190# then back to 160# now back to 182# again it take so much will power.. They are fitting these like an Italian Tailor shop I suppose.. I am short and stocky .. so Regular sizes are way too long if I can get clothes in short sizes the legs and arms can still be a little long.. and I have a 44" chest at 5'4" 29" inseam... I would love to have a pair of custom Leathers that fit me .. but now they have the air seats with stretchy panetls . Air Suits really seem to be the way to go now day s..
I am 5'4" yet have the same chest at the 6' Dude if I ever get anything big enough for my chest and waist then the sleeves and legs are too long .. People definitely have different body shapes.. Also I have anti abrasion riding pants the knee pads are below my knees.. The female Model needs to smile .. I watched to videos before I Investigated the price maybe I better hold my breath ..
I've been wearing Vansons for years now. Every time you put them on they become a little more a part of you. After wearing a Vanson jacket for two or three years you put it on and it feels like custom-molded armor.
The only thing I didn't like about my ventilated Vanson leather jacket were the shoulder emblems. Sorry Vanson, just a personal thing so I cut them off. Otherwise, you can't find a stronger or better constructed leather jacket from my experience wearing several other brands over the years. One more complaint, for some reason the bottom pant leg zippers on my Vanson leather pants broke, both of them. Without them working the pants would ride up and rendered the pants useless. I called Vanson to find out how much to repair them and at the time I was shocked at what their estimate was. Besides that, the pants were only a few years old and you would think the company should take part of the blame for installing either faulty or poor quality zippers and extend me a fair repair estimate. I believe they should have lasted a lot longer than several years, don't you think and Vanson should do a better job standing behind their products. Thanks for the video GoGo, but I cringed when you smacked that classic Suomy Spec 1R Bostrom helmet with a baseball bat. I have the same helmet and it's one of my favorites. I had quite a few Suomy helmets back in the late 90s to mid 2000s, but I sold most all of them after I had a serious crash in 05. I was thinking after wards perhaps it was already damaged from a previous accident? I remember watching you years ago racing the Ducati 749R, you railed on that puppy and if I recall, you took the AFM championship in the bike's class back in 04 or 05.
