Way back in 1967 when WWE was known as WWWF Bruno Sammartino was WWWF champion when he won the WWWF US Tag Team titles with Spiros Arion . At the time the rules said nobody could have 2 titles at once so Bruno was replaced as US Tag Team champion by Victor Rivera and the WWWF US Tag Team titles were soon abandoned .
I miss the old red and gold belts as well as the blue belts for SmackDown. I think it’s cool that they made them the same color as their brands color very professional.
Out of all these 5 star matches and plus (Cody/Rollins, Dragunov/Walter and Walter/Sheamus) I'm gonna have to say it. Shawn vs Taker Hell in a Cell is the best one out of the bunch. What a phenomenal match. When people ask which match/moment began the Attitude Era, you get different results (such as Bret/Shawn SvS 97, Austin vs HBK WM 14). But for me, this is the match that started the hottest era in all of Wrestling. It started out with great storytelling with Taker battering Shawn, then progressed into Shawn turning the tables onto Taker by doing new spots nobody has ever seen before at that time. Like doing a dive to Taker into the Cell and giving Undertaker a piledriver on the steps. Shawn was playing his character well by being a dick to the Camera Man. But once Taker fought back, HE FOUGHT BACK HARD! He used Shawn as a battering ram by sending his head into the cell multiple times. Cutting Shawn open in the process. Then you see Taker just slamming him on top of the cell. As Shawn was trying to escape, Undertaker caught him and kicked hm off the cell. Then he hit Shawn in the head as a revenge tatic. Taker was about to win the match when all of a sudden. A mysterious music played. That music turned out to be his long lost brother Kane's music. Kane came walking down the rampway with Paul Bearer. Kane then ripped the door to the Hell in a Cell as he tombstoned The Undertaker. Shawn pinned Undertaker after that and he was ready to face Bret Hart for the WWE title at Survivor Series. I'd give it more than 5 stars in all honesty. This is why I think it's the best. It was so new and different and the storytelling was absolutely amazing. Totally an instant classic.
