She does get along well for an Agricultural. Usually average about 6.5mph but on a good and open road we will average just over 7mph. Coming back from the Mid Hants last year we did 19 miles in 2 hours 50 minutes (on the move, we had a water stop about 4 miles from home).
Hi Mechanicman! I'm one of the members of the team that was working on the Ransomes Sims & Jefferies hauling the train. Would it be possible for you top send us a full resolution copy of the video for our own records? We were focusing on the task at hand rather then videoing it!
Went after two covid, no show, years. Fantastic day out. 9am to 11 pm for £25. Heavy horse ploughing, steam threshing and saw mill. WW1 trench recreation queues constant. Only downside was real ale was £5 a pint. Funniest part was commentator in HH arena saying some steam enthusiasts don't feel part of the steam community until they've been insulted by him.
I don't know if the three engines hauling the transformer were using special coal, but they were making impressive smoke effects when no one seemed to be making much smoke at all. I like the race up the hill @8:00 🤠 That engine at the end (I thought at first it was American, as the flywheel's on the wrong side, but it may be an export model McLaren) hauling the steam loco was putting up an impressive show, that must be well over a hundred tons with the Alleleys rig as well
Nice video 89Mechanicman, great stills too. I know the son of a former owner, from when this engine lived in Kingsclere, (the owner before John Lillywhite). I will forward the link for the video on. Its good to see that the engine is not too far away and in great condition too.
Thanks @DrRogB . I can forward the owners details to yourself to be forwarded to the previous owners family. He’d be very interested if they have any stories, info, pictures etc. Or if you could forward the contact details for the family to myself by email. jackwakelin@ymail.com that would be amazing.
Petrol. Hasn’t been run on TVO for about 25 years. Only been used on the road for about 6/7 years (since I’ve owned it) but never had a problem running on petrol. Use 20 litres of petrol to one cap full of two stroke oil just to look after the valve seats a little bit.
@@89Mechanicman I have been running TVO in mine but found that it isn't too great for the spark plugs so I'm interested in running petrol only, I guess heat shield off and that's about it.
