One of my favorite parts of the movie Gettysburg was when Robert E. Lee rode out on his horse to rally his soldiers before Pickett's Charge and they all gathered around him shouting Lee, Lee, Lee, Lee, Lee, Lee !! That part brought tears to my eyes !! It was a great scene, and Martin Sheen was the perfect choice to play the part of General Lee !!
Sam Elliot wasn't casted in the movie. He simply stumbled on the set on horseback, and after seeing him, the director told him to just be himself while the camera was rolling.
Free America vote Donald Trump and make America great again!! America has been suffering from Joe Biden and incompetent Kamal Harris, their stupidity has let millions of illegals criminals and drugs invade America.
Why didn't they all just carry pistols? They're basically semi auto. No seriously, why not issue everyone pistols? They could unleash so many more rounds per minute on the enemy. They even had gattling guns. Full auto. FULL AUTO. And they never used them in the war. Um, why?
This was Ted Turners dream project from start to finish. No matter what you think of him , his money , his vision got this done. He was a Civil War scholar with passion. Thank him for persevering and giving us this classic.
AFRICA IS OBSESSED WITH """"LIBERATING""(WHO HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY LIBERATED) PALESTINIANS BECAUSE THEY KILL JEWS & ISRAEL CAN NEVER BE SMALL ENOUGH) 😡😡😡😡🗼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇮🇱✡️🕎🇬🇧🇨🇦🇳🇿🇫🇷🗼🗼🇫🇷🇧🇪🇳🇴🇩🇰🇵🇱🇫🇷😡😡
I think that Jeff Daniels was a good choice to play the part of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. He looks a lot like Chamberlain did at the time of The Battle of Gettysburg. Chamberlain was seriously wounded during the war. He attended the 50th anniversary of Gettysburg and he said that it was a transcendental experience, a radiant fellowship of the fallen.
Only Reason in the Confederacy.Lost , that battle is because the artillery was firing off mark They're all brand new from England and it wasn't correct. There were Firing off mark
Here's a factoid related to this movie: Did Robert E. Lee own the land that is now Arlington National Cemetery? In December 1882, the Supreme Court ruled in Lee's favor. A few months later, in March 1883, the federal government purchased the property from Lee for $150,000 (over $4 million today), and Arlington National Cemetery continued its mission as a burial ground for U.S. service members and their families.
I get out to Gettysburg about once a year and hike the hills there. the ground is a defensive wet dream, just ridge after ridge after ridge like giant's corduroy
Great movie and reenactment of one of the civil war's most bloodiest battles. Historians said union and confederate soldiers marching to Gettysburg were writing letters saying this battle will decide the war. Sam Elliott was perfect to potray General John Buford, who, along with his calvary who was screening the movements of the Army of the Potomac, made their stand west of Gettysburg on the Chambersburg pike, delaying advanced elements of A.P. Hill's Corps approaching from Cashtown, and Ewell's Corps from Carlisle. "Fighting for time". Buford's calvary held off confederate advances for over 2 hours. Enought time for the Union 1st and 11th corps to arrive. I hope someday to visit Gettysburg
I just took my wife and a friend to Gettysburg. The museum is awesome. They have a panoramic painting very large and they do a presentation with it. It covers Pickets charge. I was in tears. The battlefield is very sobering.
The Rockefeller & well you know the rest of the Zionists got to Lee on a suicide mission. The Southern generals were way better on top of his own man shot Stonewall 3 months prior who never lost a battle COINDENCE NO!!
