The Oregon Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) is a non-profit organization that was created to help preserve Oregon's unique musical heritage. Our focus is to recognize and promote the legacy of exceptional Oregon musicians of the past, promote promising new Oregon musicians of today, and to enrich Oregon music education programs in order to train our musicians of tomorrow.
Mark Lindsay, "60s, one of the richest periods in musical history", so true. As a producer, Mr. Lindsay signed Jerry Rafferty. For those who forgot, remember, Baker Street? To increase its air play, Mr. Lindsay edited the song and brought it down from 6 mins to a radio playing 3 to 4 minute format.

I agree. Staying in shape and limber is key to life extension. It keeps the mind, body and spirit youthful, whatever the chronological age might be. If we take care of ourselves it benefits everyone around us and their quality of life. I love your attitude towards getting old.
Totally worthy of the award. I saw the band on many occasions, including the reunion shows at Euphoria and the Town Hall. I wrote an account of those shows for a Portland music publication called the Musical Notes that went belly up before the story was ever published. It ended up in a foreshortened, bowdlerized version in The Oregonian's Sunday Northwest Magazine. At their best, there was no better jug band in those days, including the Jim Kweskin Jug Band.
That's more than bizarre about not "letting" the Raiders be part of the RR Haul of Fame. What kind of a dick would even consider anything so blatantly stupid (let alone a committee)!?
Mark Lindsay was and still is my favorite musician. What a rare talent. I met him once back in the 1970s and it was a pleasure to meet him and talk to him briefly. A true gentleman. Mark thank you for the music that touched my soul and you have many great years ahead of you to perform for your fans! Get out to Tucson, AZ, and will be there to enjoy a show!
Well, that's because Mark Lindsay and Paul Rever's music belonged in the bubble gum music hall of fame. They were not writing their own hit songs. They were kind of like The Monkees: a corporate canned presentation. Mark cashed in on that whole deal, you know, the whole slick corporate presentation, but he wants to be recognized as being the same as the bands that actually wrote their own songs (hit records.) The other bands that wrote their own hit songs, had their own genuine original sound. If Paul Revere And The Raiders had written their own songs, with a distictive style, then they could be in the class of the other bands. But, they didn't do that, and they probably weren't capable of dong that. They were good entertainers. They made it fun. Mark was a good singer, and looked good on camera. That was enought for the corporate record biz to mold his sound into a corporate presenation. People like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, never had that corporate sound.
Looks like death here but I saw an interview from 1996 and he looked great he is either ill in this interview or he has the worst plastic surgeon in the world.

DAVID Coffin... not "Paul"... but you see that, later in. I'm still wondering what 'forces' decided that our old jug band was worthy of this award... but I'm glad that I lived to see it-- & only wish that Steve, & Nick, & especially Barefoot John Hendricks- a quintessential "Oregon Boy"- had been there with us. ^..^
Mark's singing voice is embedded in my teenage years. His songs are heartfelt. He has a world class singing voice. This man is not an ordinary singer. He's one of the best.
